I cannot say thank you enough to the people who came to support us at our first official “big kid” show — it took eighteen months, but we’re finally doing the thing we’ve always dreamed of!

Here’s to a bright future, my boy. ❤️

Had a family afternoon (minus Cadence as she’s trying to come into season), and STILL can’t get anybody to look at the camera! 🤣

But at least we have some tired, happy kiddos.

Now that all of her babies have found wonderful foster or forever homes and she has fully recovered from her spay surgery, our foster girl Millie is officially 100% ready for adoption!

You can find another blurb on her over with the Southeast GSP Rescue on their website, but here’s just a few of the deets:

~ Fully kennel trained
~ Fully house trained
~ Uses a dog door
~ Good on a leash and collar or harness
~ Good with other medium/large dogs
~ Okay with smaller breeds that are comfortable around larger dogs.

Although we haven’t had an opportunity to see how she does around cats or younger children, this sweet little lady is an ABSOLUTE love bug — she is a prime cuddle candidate and genuinely just wants to 🎶be where the people are!🎵 (Maybe we should have named her Ariel?? 🤔🤣)

Sometimes I’m pretty sure she thinks she’s just a tiny little lap dog, but it’s okay, we forgive her for forgetting that she’s fifty pounds! 🤣 If you’re interested please feel free to send us a message, and you can fill out an adoption application on SEGSP’s website as well! I know she would love to finally find a family to call her own. ❤️

Storie here ~

I wanted to share this photo again because over the past few months, this message has become so important once more. A lot of people say that we ought to keep human politics out of the dog world and out of our professional spaces, but the truth is, politics are directly affecting our very livelihood. And at the end of the day, this needs to be said.

Ivy Creek Kennels is owned by a LGBTQ+ friendly, minority supporting q***r couple. And now we find ourselves once again living in a country that is trying to erase our very existence.

Throughout Trump's initial term, I was determined to be the bigger person - to do the 'right' thing by turning the other cheek and just weathering his presidency in hopes that we'd learn from our first mistake. But this time, I am choosing to say that enough is enough.

I will not be debating this with anyone in the comments. You are free to your opinions as is supposed to be our American right, but it is also OUR right as a kennel to make choices that best reflect our ethics, our morals, and our very integrity.

Very slowly I have been personally whittling down those in my circle who support Trump despite his blatant disregard for any marginalized community, and as we move forward into the future, we will be doing our very best to maintain those standards when it comes down to choosing breeding matches, choosing homes for our puppies, and choosing who we align ourselves with in the dog community. I recognize that it's impossible to know every single person's affiliations or intentions, but I will certainly do my best to try.

And take this as a welcome invitation to remove yourself from our circle if you feel this post is targeted towards you, because if you support Trump in any capacity, it IS. Minorities have always existed, in every space on this planet. Q***r people have always existed. Things are not what they used to be, and I will no longer stand idly by to watch people try to excuse blatant racism, sexism, homophobia, and xenophobia.

Ivy Creek will always be geared towards supporting marginalized people who wish to have a trustworthy, supportive kennel in the bird dog world. We are proud to be a safe space for those who understand what it truly means.

We will NOT be erased.

Alrighty guys, it's time to get those shares out there!!

Millie's little rainbows are about a week out from being ready to go to their foster (or forever! 👀) homes! We still need the puppy brigade rolling in full force to get these kiddos networked and to get some more foster homes lined up once they're all set, so please reach out to the Southeast GSP Rescue if you haven't already to get the process started. They have been absolutely wonderful to work with, and we can't wait to see these adorable raindrops keep growing up. 🥹❤️

The Ivy Creek Crew had an absolute blast today attending the GSP Meetup hosted by Kanine Social today!

We hung out with Hazel, one of our puppies, and met a ton of online shorthair friends along with their awesome spotty babies in person!

The whole event was a total success and we can’t wait for the next one 😍

We did a thing!

Years ago, when my little misfit mutt was a much younger fella, he donated blood on several occasions to my hometown’s local emergency center.

Today we begin a journey to keep the tradition going and help save more lives — with the end of vet tech appreciation week, I see all my fellow vet med folks sharing the highs and lows of our careers. The successes and the challenges.

And if this gangly-legged, adolescent moose boy can make even the smallest difference in the life of not only another animal, but the family that loves them, it will make all the hard days that much more worth it. 💖

Now that we’ve finally managed to get some individual photos, we are so happy to introduce you all to our first foster (plus some! 🤣) with the Southeast GSP Rescue 💖

Millie came to us days before Hurricane Milton made landfall in our area of central Florida, but she was an absolute champ and gave birth to ten adorable Pointy mix puppies very shortly after her arrival. She has been an amazing mama to these little ones (although we are happy to announce it will certainly be her last!), and we are excited to share their journey with you as we search for their forever families.

Please feel free to share and reach out to us with any questions about Millie or her big brood, and we will help direct you to fill out an application form once they are all ready to go home!

So as always…

Stay tuned, and happy hunting! 🪶

Both Karter and I are so proud to be an approved foster home with the Southeast GSP Rescue - our love of the breed extends far beyond our own lines, and we are grateful to be able to make a difference in the lives of our rescues and fosters as well.

Plus, there’s a little surprise coming soon as we continue to recover from Hurricane Milton… so stay tuned. 😉

We dedicate everything we do at Southeast GSP Rescue to Beth Cochran, our founder (front center). Tragically, we said farewell to Beth on October 12, 2017, when she passed away from pancreatic cancer.

Beth, A Veterinarian, personally fostered more than a hundred dogs as well as vetted and cared for countless dogs in rescue. She touched and impacted hundreds of people through her work rescuing dogs and by creating the Southeast GSP Rescue. Her dedication and love of GSP’s will live on forever in the dogs we rescue.

In 1990 Beth acquired her first GSP and joined the GSPCA. She read an article about rescue in the journal and realized there was no one helping in the SE and saw a need she could address. For the first few years, Beth managed rescuing dogs on the East Coast as a very small group, communicating with a few volunteers by phone and mailed newsletter – there was NO email or Internet then.

SEGSP now rescues over 100 dogs each year (130 GSPs in 2023) and has over 1000 volunteers in 7 states – quite an accomplishment thanks to the tireless work and dedication of Beth Cochran!

We desperately miss our leader, but she lives on in each GSP we save.
