Our Scramble (Momma cat) needs to see a vet asap. She is off balance and falling down after being lost for 2 days. We don't know if she was trapped somewhere and was injured or what happened. I haven't been getting many hours at work and am barely able to buy food for all these animals. If you can donate even a few dollars toward her vet visit I can get her examined. Yeah I'm that person. I saw this poor opossum trying to lick every drop of water out of the water bowl so I went out and refilled everything at 4:30 in the morning. These poor animals need all the help they can get in this heat. I'll be putting out lots more water tonight.

5 new kittens! They are feral but young enough to be tamed to try to save them from a life outdoors. 9 weeks old. Thankfully my vet may be able to help with rehoming

Update: sadly we lost our darling Peaches

One of our little kittens has a flattened rib cage. It could be either a congenital issue or caused as a birth problem. She will need veterinary intervention. We call her Peaches

I took in these 3 babies after their mother abandoned them. They hadn't eaten for 2 days even with their finder trying to bottle feed. My Scramble has adopted them! Her 8 week old Blossom is on the right 😂. All girls, 2 weeks or so old

Sooooo many people trying to rescue baby opossums right now and often making these "cute babies" pets! Not a good idea and pretty much a death sentence for these delicate creatures! They often suffer from a bone disorder called MBD and in order to prevent it they need a very specific diet. Not cat food! They should have no food for 24 hours! When and if they grow up they become true wild nocturnal animals that call for mates all night... not fun! Only someone very experienced can give an unreleasable opossum the care it needs and the diet is very expensive. So .... get that baby warm, don't feed it, and contact a rehabber immediately! Save a life, don't endanger it!

No luck spotting the momma opossum with babies last night but thunderstorms probably kept her tucked in with her kids. Several other opossums enjoyed the smorgasbord we put out though! We will keep watching for her. Wright Ranch Rescue is guiding us on the situation and they are the BEST wildlife rescue around! The plan is to get Mom's eye treated and have her safely released with the help of our rescue friends! Here is one sassy youngster who visited last night!

Coolest thing EVER! Mom opossum with a pile of babies on her back and hanging from her pouch right under my front window! Mom clearly has an injury to her left eye and above it. We are sending photos to our wildlife rehab friends to see if we need to intervene.

P.S. it's baby opossum season! If you find one do NOT feed it! Just put it somewhere warm to ward off shock and contact a wildlife rehabber asap! Opossums who fall off mom need warmth first! No food or water! It will kill them if in shock! The rescues near us each have 30-40 baby opossums of every size. Many are taken from the pouches of females that were attacked by dogs or hit by cars. They cannot survive without human intervention! Be alert! Opossums are important! They are gentle creatures and do NOT carry rabies!

I'm such a big boy! I fell off my Mom's back and got stuck in a thunderstorm and almost died from cold and rain. But a lady found me in her yard and dried me off then called everywhere for help! Vicki and Jenn were going to get a doggy rescue so they got me too! I'm safe now! I'm going to get a bottle soon and I'm nice and warm and dry. P.S. I weigh 5 ounces and I open my mouth (gape) to scare away the scarey-scareys. It's my only defense. I don't bite!

Welcome FOZZIE! He is a 5 year old dachshund poodle mix. FOZZIE is an emergency foster and needs continuation of his training but will eventually be available for adoption. Think Hunter 2.0

Poppy will meet her new Momma today! Actually, the human adopter can choose from Hiccup, Daisy or Poppy but knowing her as I do (coworker) I think Poppy is her match!

Eyes just opened! These darlings will be looking for a home in 7 weeks. The tuxedo is a boy, gray is a girl. The other tuxedo sadly didn't survive. Momma isn't the most attentive but she does feed and clean her babies. We just need to keep a close eye on them. Formula on hand if needed but so far so good.
