Starfire was a 3-5 day old Calico Kitten. She was found outside a burned down house by a good Samaritan. After searching the internet and calling a few other rescues, they called Rawhide. Teddi agreed to pick up the kitten. Angela agreed to foster. The family requested to adopt when Starfire was old enough. A friend of Rawhide that works as a vet tech looked the kitten over upon intake. For the next 2 weeks, Starfire fought for her life. Unfortunately, the young thing was separated from her mother far too quickly. The stress of the ordeal was too much. Rawhide made the decision to end the baby's suffering and euthanized her.

Cowboy came to us in 2019 along with his friend Kate. He was an Appaloosa gelding with a lot of s***k. Upon his arrival, he was evaluated. Cowboy did not like having a rider and was quick to show his disapproval.
During the course of his involvement with the rescue, he improved to allow a rider for a few steps. It was discovered that Cowboy had some pain in his back. Before the rescue could take steps to relieve that pain, his owner decided to keep him.

In 2019, Kate's owner asked for our help rehoming her. She was a bay Quarter Horse mare with tendonitis in her front leg. While she was able to move comfortably, she was not able to take a rider.
She was a sweet, in your pocket type of horse. After a few months, her owner decided that he didn't want to get rid of her. She is no longer in the care of the rescue.
