I was astonished when I saw this. Top photo 2023 bottom photo 2024. Almost shot from the same spot, the only difference is Kaki's suit. All four....off the floor. I love her front, her balance and oh.....that movement! THANK YOU KAKI!

Poor souls. Purchase your puppies from preservation breeders who produce puppies that are well socialized and healthy from health tested parentage. These are the people with deep knowledge of the breed, the ability to mentor you and if the untoward occurs, guarantee to take a dog back at any time to assure any puppy produced has a safe haven its entire life…..

Did you know that German Shorthaired Pointers are currently in shelters and rescues more than ever before? After the pandemic, puppy sales increased drastically, which led to “backyard” breeders and puppy mills producing large quantities of puppies to keep up with demands. Once life began returning back to normal for the general public, some unfortunate things happened:

-People went back to work and realized that the commitment they made to a high energy breed was not one they could follow through on.
-People were unable to properly socialize and expose their dogs to a healthy routine and lifestyle, leading to behavior issues such as separation anxiety, dog reactivity, and fearfulness to name a few.
-“Breeders” continued to produce large numbers of puppies, even when demands decreased, in hopes to continue making money.

These issues along with others, led to the increase of GSP’s in devastating circumstances, finding themselves at shelters and rescues.

Our point here is- your local shelter or rescue may be in great need of donations, volunteering, or even fostering. If you have the time, funds, space, or ability to help in any way, please consider doing so! We guarantee that any amount of help goes a long way for these organizations.

Thank you to all the GSP rescues across the country that have been working tirelessly to ensure the safe landing of as many GSP’s as possible! We appreciate you! 🖤🤍🤎🐾

Hello friends!

The total solar eclipse is just around the corner, and just about everyone is ready to see the once in a lifetime event. We are seeing some mixed information about pet/wildlife safety.

Contrary to what some may read, the sun itself is not any more dangerous during the eclipse. The reason protective eye wear is recommended for humans (who wish to observe the eclipse) is because many of us will be staring directly at the sun that day, which is something we typically avoid.

For our pets, and outdoor wildlife, that day will be similar to any other day. Our pets don’t stare at the sun, so there is no need to keep them indoors on April 08 for any extended period of time. They may notice the change in temperature, but it is unlikely they will exhibit any unusual behaviour.

The eclipse can be more unsettling for birds. The dimming of the sky can mimic behaviour at dusk and during early storm formation, so some birds may demonstrate a wind-down behaviour and there may be less activity in the sky during the peak eclipse. Once the sky returns to normal, so does their behaviour.

Both Denzel and Farrah have sound temperaments and natural desire to please whether in the ring or field Both have some big wins to their names and finished their AKC Grand Championships with ease.

Denzel is the third generation of HHH solid liver dogs to win Best of Winners and Best Bred By at the GSPCC National Specialty show, doing so in 2023. He has specialty wins in AKC competition and is gaining on his Bronze Championship all owner handled. At two years old, he’s just getting started and will spend some time in the birdfield this summer !

Farrah has won specialty majors and finished her GCH with ease, She has lovely dark pigment and just floats when she moves. She LOVES Fast Cat and dock diving, look for her this summer!

It was a successful time at the York specialties again this year. Despite missing the first day, Sonnet found the pot of gold today and racked up her 14th BEST IN SPECIALTY SHOW !
It's a looooong drive home on a Sunday when you've been showing dogs for days.......but well worth it when you get the call that Sonnet and Kaki went on to win yet another Sporting group first!
Thank you to Judge Fankhauser for the nice compliments on my girl and for the Specialty and Sporting group wins!
As always, thank you Kaki for your professionalism, presentation and love for my girl!

First, let’s get this out of the way right off the bat. Your vet does 👏🏼 not 👏🏼care.⁣

Second. We ALWAYS know. 😏⁣
⁣
There is no sense in denying it. Don’t make up some du***ss story, and stop blaming your neighbors. It’s a whole lot easier and faster to just be upfront about what is going on.⁣
⁣
Ma*****na toxicity is extremely common in household pets these days. A tiny amount can cause a whole host of symptoms, and here are the most common:⁣
⁣
🌱 Unable to stand/walk in a straight line⁣
🌱 Dribbling urine/having accidents⁣
🌱 Hyperreflexive around the head (flinching HARD when a hand comes toward their face)⁣
🌱 Nausea/drooling/vomiting⁣
🌱 Low heart rate/body temperature⁣
🌱 Overall appearing like they’re high as a kite⁣
⁣
Luckily life threatening ma*****na toxicity is rare, and the majority of pets who ingest THC bounce back quickly with a night of hospitalization and fluids, along with lots of treats, a dark room, and some Pink Floyd. 😉⁣
⁣
In large amounts ma*****na can cause coma and even death, so seeking veterinary attention is always recommended. Also, I tell owners constantly that if your pet is exhibiting these symptoms and it’s NOT ma*****na, then I’m going to be really worried. So let’s all be honest here, and save yourself some money digging for a diagnosis when we already know what’s going on.⁣

Oh and parents, if you bring your teenager with you to the appointment and your vet asks you about ma*****na? Please take a moment to excuse yourself to the restroom so we can appropriately grill the 17 year old smirking in the corner. You may not know there’s w**d in your house, but I guarantee sweet little Ryan does. 🙃

A fourth generation Champion from Bred by, Denny is also the third generation of solid liver HHH dogs to go Best of Winners at the GSPCC National Specialty, adding Best Bred by as well! A beautifully balanced dog with correct front assembly, lovely movement, bone and nose……Denny loves everyone and everything!
He is headed for additional titles this winter and will then head for field work.
