Dark Horse Horsemanship is a family friendly facility, with a focus on Natural Horsemanship and foundation training. We are consistently working to create safe horses and safe riders all while putting fun and the relationship between horse and rider first. As a full service facility, DHH offers boarding, lessons, workshops, play days, training and horses for sale/lease. We look forward to helping you and your horse be the best you, you can be!!

Just a little peek at what we’ve been up to the past few weeks! 🐴

While we don’t offer public trail rides at Dark Horse, we do love hitting the trail with our friends and volunteers who’ve been riding and learning with us. Over the last two weeks, we’ve gone on three awesome trail rides—and they did not disappoint!

It’s always such a good time stepping out of the arena and into the woods, putting all those riding skills to use in a real-world way. Big thanks to everyone who joined us… we had a blast out there with you!

Advanced Camp was a huge success!
The girls had an amazing week learning how to apply their horsemanship skills in new and creative ways—keeping things fun for both themselves and their horses. Between all the learning, they still managed to squeeze in plenty of laughs and unforgettable moments.

Dark Horse Advanced Camp – Day 2

Day 2 brought the heat, but that didn’t stop these girls from putting in the work! Before the temperatures climbed too high, they dove into games designed to teach the art of tool handling, practicing being both kind and effective. They also explored how a horse responds to changes in posture and riding position. So much learning packed into one morning!

Advanced Camp is Underway! 🐴
Today marked the first official day of Advanced Camp, and what a great start it was!

This week is specially designed for campers who already have a strong foundation in riding and groundwork. Today, the girls put their skills to the test with riding games that focused on control, precision, and riding with purpose.

They learned a lot—and had even more fun! We can’t wait to see how much they grow this week, both in confidence and connection with their horses.

🌟 Horse Camp Week 2 is in the books! 🌟

What a week! Full of laughter, learning, and unforgettable moments. This week was extra special—many of our campers were foster children from Calvary Home. Some were familiar faces from our spring program, and watching them grow, smile, and thrive around the horses was nothing short of inspiring. 💛

Camp is more than just riding horses. It’s building confidence, forming friendships, and creating memories that last a lifetime.

Thanks to the partnership between Dark Horse and Hearts in Harmony, we’re able to offer this life-changing experience at no cost to children who need it most.

But here’s the hard truth: we can’t do it without you.

🌿 It’s that time again—Second Saturday Service Day is HERE! 🌿

It snuck up on us, but this Saturday (June 14th) we’re back at it with our monthly Service Day! We know summer schedules can be wild, but if you’re able to come lend a hand—we’d love to have you.

🛠️ These days are all about tackling the small (but mighty!) jobs around the farm that keep everything running smoothly. Whether it’s mending fences, clearing trails, or organizing tack—we promise there’s something for everyone!

🐴 Camp Week 1 Photo Dump! 🎉
There’s nothing quite like Horse Camp at Dark Horse… and Week 1 did NOT disappoint! 🤠💥

We went all in this week — learning how to partner with our horses through grooming, games, and all the horsey hugs. 🧼🐎💖 The kids even got to ride standing up and sitting backwards (don’t worry, the horses were cool with it 😄).

After lunch? It was adventure time! 🌿🌊 Whether it was the creek or our own wild backyard, we got muddy, messy, and made some serious memories. Because really, what’s camp without a little mud?! 😆

Huge shoutout to our awesome campers — you guys showed up with big hearts and brave spirits, and we loved every second with you! 🥰 And THANK YOU to all the amazing parents for bringing your kids out each day — you made Week 1 extra special.

🎉 Camp Season is officially HERE!! 🎉

We kicked things off yesterday and WOW—what a blast! June is packed full of campers diving into groundwork, trying out different riding styles, getting crafty, and soaking up all the nature around us. 🌿🐴🎨

Our first day was filled with smiles, learning, and a whole lot of fun—and this is just the beginning! We can’t wait to take you along for the ride all month long. Stay tuned for more camp magic! ✨💛
