Everyone wants Marans.
I have my 3 breeders I know who is who from 2024 for spot in eggs.
Marans are a breed where color is a benefit to the SOP, however until they Lay I’ll just have a good idea of mom and dad how dark they lay, like the olive egger bloom had a a great deal on the color. Same as when they all start to lay the colors are going to be much richer bc the eggs will be much smaller when they start laying.
I have not had time this week to go through and choose which Marans and olives I would like to keep vs sell.
I only hold birds for a week or two that are paid in full. The birds are all vaccinated and I have a great deal of time and money in my flock and will not barter or haggle given feed prices the last 2 summers and each bird is brought up on chick starter, vaccinated and grown out in a humane manner with clean water and food daily.

And just like that, peac**k tails are off. They molt in the fall and will all have a nice full train by spring 2025. Each feather falls out naturally, when I do chores after work I pick them up everynight. Over the course of a couple weeks I had quite the stash

I saw this inspiration online months ago!!! Thank you so much for the support I’ve constantly had people cheering me on. Tonight I was gifted an almost new cooler for my road side egg stand! Eeek it’s so cute!
I need to make decals and add chickens to it!
I will be able to set “eating eggs” out with cold packs so people can grab and go!

This almost purple bloom black copper Marans eggs!!! Mmm mmm
Bloom and egg color vary by the breed, the bloom can change through the lay cycle, the eggs will also be much darker earlier in the spring when they start back up or lay for the first time.
Sunlight and shadow light can make a huge difference as well.
These are in my car at 2pm w direct sunlight
