We are taking early registrations now for our Horse Camp this summer June 2-4, (see flyer below); its a great learning opportunity for youth that love horses, spots are limited so contact us soon if interested. We provide the horse/pony for the youth.

Happy Holidays from our barn to yours; we are taking a much needed break from lessons and training. We'll have important 2025 dates to share about camps, clinics and a WDAA Western Dressage show in coming shortly after New Years

Found this photo of the Shetland pony class at the 1949 NE State Fair while perusing NE State Historical Society livestock pictures. What a beautiful class, this year the State Fair couldn't even manage a miniature horse/shetland show because there's not enough funding for judges, such a shame. For history buffs, this show was in the old pavilion which has been spared complete demolition on the Univ. of Nebr. Innovation campus. The windows have at least been preserved.

Several good things happening at the Stable this week: Sheila received her USEF large R judges card for Western Dressage and Miss Millie came home from the trainer. She is currently ranked 5th in USEF standings in Western Dressage Intro Open Division; E Bar C Performance Horses in KS did a terrific job training and showing her this summer, she has terrific gaits and a wonderful future. We were busy at S & L this weekend, splitting resources to 2 different shows in 2 different states. Lyle led the youth crew at the 4-H show fundraiser in Otoe Co. Fairgrounds and Sheila traveled to the Area VI AMHR show in Salina with Michele Wilson, all had fun times with their ponies and safe travels. S & L Stables, home to kids, ponies and fun.

A very successful mini/pony clinic for 4-H youth and families this weekend, much thanks to Irene Ihm, our clinician and Blazing Saddles youth volunteers, there is a huge interest in showing ponies in 4-H and an eagerness to learn!
