Weekend field trip! π€ Nebraska bound π₯³
With Rooster, Oatie, Chily, and Tex
Boys will be boys π€£
Ft. Oatie and Rooster
Archie has been such a fun kid to work with! We've been working hard on gaining buttons and neck reining. Still a little sticky on our turns to the left but we'll get it π€

Not the scary jacket π¨π
Got stuck and got help!π€
I felt like I was going in circles with Rooster and Oatie and I couldn't be more grateful for Jim and Jill Cook for giving me a hand the past 2 days! I preach to always remaining a student in the horse industry and get the help when needed π I won't get into the nitty gritty of everything but I'm just incredibly thankful for these wonderful people in my life. They even got me a new night latch because they weren't a fan of my cheap dog collarπ€£
Love it when the horse changes up the plans I had for their session π€£ Now it's a waiting game π€
Anyone want to donate some patient poles? π€π
Chily and Siesta out in the big arena! Finally got my gates on last night π
Sorry for the limited content, my dad has been in town helping out a ton around the place. We've been go go go!
First baby ride on Texas and Oatie!
Siesta's first solo ride! She's had some leadline rides in the past π€ She did great! Lazy and unsure on the forward part which is normal, unfortunately I don't have another to push me around the round pen so this is how it goes π
Also, being the only one on the property and being a minimum of 30 minutes for any emergency services to get to me, I figured I should get back into the habit of wearing my brain bucket π§

Everyone got saddled yesterday π€
πͺ
Siesta has been saddled before but not with a back cinch, she had a small opinion about it going into the lope.
π¨π±Texas had a short lived opinion about the saddle and realized that was way too much work π
πΆ Chilli could have cared less π€·πΌββοΈ
π Rooster has been saddled before so he didn't mind
πΎOatie didn't mind coming to the party either and he had no opinion on the matter
πEveryone was great!π
Happy 4th! π

I thoroughly enjoy this drill with all my new horses! It gives me a good idea of how they work mentally and where they're at on groundwork. Prior to doing this drill I work on sending off, disengaging hind quarters, backing, and desentizing to my tools. This drill requires all these things and then you put an obstacle in front of them π
The things I'm picking up during the ππ’π¦πππ«π πΎπππ!
π€ Is the obstacle scary, easy or a toy? Are they paying attention to me or outside distractions? What happens when I close the gap and how do they overcome it? How soft can I get them to send, disengage their hind quarters, and back? The list goes on! π€£
Everyone had a moment or two of some kind but out of everyone, they all were very willing and came back out of any moment they had quickly! Really liking this bunch! π
Stay safe out there today and be responsible π₯³
Worked on the clover leaf drill today with everyone at the trot and lope! Such a great drill and brownie did great! Love her nice jog π She's also been wanting to pick up some speed in her turn around and I pushed her a little to see what she would give and she did not disappoint!

Blackie has been working on her circles too! Had a little stumble on her first stop which she rebounded well, flying lead changes are getting on cue and slowly refining it π€ Blackie has been doing so well! π

By no means perfect, but I finally have the room to make some large fast circles π Aries sure enjoys it π€£

Hydrants in, arena posts set, my horses shelter moved and the round pen is up! Got a lot done this weekend! π₯³ Huge thank you to my partner in crime, his parents and Joseph π
πI'm going homeπ
I've been keeping it a secret since I was asked to relocate due to medical reasons on the owners part. Rather than moving to a new barn, I decided to try and make my dream come true. π Though we are far from finished and we have hit every fork in the road, this wouldn't have been made possible without my parents, my partner, my friends, and most importantly our Lord. I've been praying for this day since we moved to Briggsdale 2 years ago, we had decided that next spring we would start the journey of building but the Lord had different plans. βΊοΈ Praying that we can put up an indoor next fall. This winter will most likely consist of haul-ins but I've been given opportunities to a few facilities to move into for the winter months. Praying on that as well and what path to go, but good thing we're in the midst of summer and I've got some time!
Thank you for making my dreams come true π Thank you for your kindness, your support, your prayers, and of course, your horses. π
Stay tuned for the progress updates π
Loving how Brownie is using herself in her lope.
My apologies for the sparce videos and posts, currently healing from my procedure last Friday. I'm itching to get back into the saddle π
