Out of the Ashes Pit Bull Rescue

Out of the Ashes Pit Bull Rescue this rescue is closed permanently Bully breeds have become the villain of the season.

Out of the Ashes Pit Bull Rescue was formed by a group of dedicated volunteers, who are committed to educating the public, fighting Breed Discrimination Laws at state and local levels, rescuing dogs in danger at kill shelters, preserving the integrity of the bully breeds, and restoring them to their rightful place as the All American Dog. Out of the Ashes Pit Bull Rescue is a foster and volunteer

based 501c3 non-profit rescue organization, serving the State of Arkansas. Feared and misunderstood by many, they are subjected to abuse and neglect by irresponsible owners, over bred for the sake of a few bucks, sensationalized by the media and discriminated against by local governments who are uninformed and reactionary. The vast majority of dogs killed in shelters are pit-bull-terrier-type dogs. Out of the Ashes Pit Bull Rescue does not accept owner surrenders and will focus only on pulling dogs from recognized animal shelters and other rescue groups. Out of the Ashes Pit Bull Rescue’s goal is improve the lives of the pit bull dogs, which have not been afforded the opportunity to benefit from a healthy, safe, loving environment. Out of the Ashes Pit Bull Rescue will seek to:
Inform and educate the public and government on the true nature of pit bull type dogs by distributing literature and holding public events and by personal example of responsible ownership. Help relieve the suffering of and prevent cruelty to dogs identified as pit bull type dogs, by educating individuals, communities and government officials and by demonstrating the true nature of the breed. Help reduce the number of homeless pit bull type dogs through our foster and adoption program. Help in the placement homeless pit bull type dogs into loving, responsible environments. Participate in fundraising in order to provide for the care and placement of pit bulls and bully breeds, with the focus on:
• veterinary treatment
• spay or neuter
• providing food, shelter or other basic necessities
• support for foster families and adopting families

When they have nowhere else to go, we just can’t say no.

📣URGENT MESSAGE FROM AN MAS VOLUNTEER (Update: ADOPTED!!)

"LISTEN UP EVERYONE!! I've got a new favorite guy, and that guy is Davi O'!! As he's a little timid and shy at first, I had no idea what was in store for me in my time with Davi O' when I got him out for Saturday morning dogwalking. He cautiously came out with me, went potty, and then we decided to walk the sidewalk. He was on his merry way, leading me on a nice leisurely walk.

He was too cute not to cuddle, so I sat down to see if he would come to me. This boy IMMEDIATELY put his whole body on my lap (legs, feet, head and all) and curled up like a cat! My heart almost exploded right there! He wants nothing more than to be close to those he loves, and he will let you know when you are one of those people. He would lay his head on my shoulder in a big warm hug, and give me kisses too! He is gentle with his love though, never making me feel like he was getting too excited or becoming too much to handle. I'm so happy to have met this handsome lover boy. He's one you don't want to miss out on!"

Davi O' is extremely stressed in the shelter environment. He was on our previous deadline plea and received foster commitment, but unfortunately that foster didn't work out. Now he needs to get seen by a lot of eyes, FAST. It is critical that he finds an adopter, foster, or rescue by this Thursday, 11/17, by 4pm, to avoid euthanasia on Friday. See comments for more details about him. If you'd like to meet Davi O', email [email protected] or meet him at Memphis Animal Services daily from 12-4 pm.
