“A dog is not a thing. A thing is replaceable. A dog is not. A thing is disposable. A dog is not. A thing doesn’t have a heart. A dog’s heart is bigger than any ‘thing’ you can ever own.” –Elizabeth Parker
Four hundred thirty. Not seconds, not hours, but four hundred thirty days is how long Roux has spent in foster care here .And today, after 430 days at 4:30 PM, Roux found his HOME FOR GOOD.
If you are not aware of Roux’s story. He was originally adopted as a young puppy 11 years ago. Over a year ago, Roux was surrendered back to Home for Good at the senior age of 10 years old because his original owners had a baby and unfortunately, Roux no longer “fit the mold”. Just like that he was ripped from everything he knew and loved and disposed of like a piece of garbage.
We took Roux back with open arms and he immediately entered foster care. For the past 1.5 year Roux has been treated as the king he truly is and spoiled rotten in his foster home. While Roux waited month after month to find his perfect happy ending, we knew one day his happily ever after would come and we would not lose hope. Well, we are so incredibly happy to announce, that today is that day. ✨ROUX FOUND HIS HOME FOR GOOD✨.
Roux’s new family was taken aback by his story and new they could give him the best of the best in his final most golden years. His new family drove all the way from Michigan (a 9 hour trip) in order to meet and adopt Roux today.
There is not a single dry eye at Rescued Dogs for adoption . We all never lost hope and today, the day we all wished would come has finally arrived. We wish Roux and his brand new family only the best in their new chapter. It’s only happy tails from here on out sweet, sweet, Roux! We love you so much. 😭❤️
