Here is an update from Anthony and his travel adventures! He and his family are doing great! They are exploring new places, learning about native wildlife, and most importantly they are enjoying their time spent together.
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Sophie, who has been part of our KBAH team for a few years. 💔 She brought many laughs, smiles, and dance moves to our hospital and our staff loved her dearly. 🌈💗
Sophie: we will miss your up-beat personality, your morning hello's, and our daily dance parties with you 💃
Today is national egg day so Groot had to participate in the #eggchallenge
We found this challenge online. You give your dog an uncooked egg and apparently they are so gentle with it! Groot lived up to the challenge!

Many of you have asked for an update on the 4 young squirrels that were brought to us in September with their tails braided and knotted together. Here is one of them stopping by for a bite to eat and to say thank you to his rehabber. They were all released after spending time with the licensed rehabilitator who dedicated her knowledge, time, and love to them ❤️
We want to thank everyone who made it possible for these squirrels to live a life in the wild.
What a wonderful outcome! Thank you Audubon Sharon for sharing! Thank you to the dedicated officers of the Connecticut State Environmental Conservation Police for helping our local wildlife!

Let’s hear it again for ENCON!
We can’t say enough great things about our ENCON Officers.
In this clip, Officer DeFelice releases the absolutely gorgeous Red-tailed Hawk who he rescued several weeks prior. This poor bird was a gunshot victim and suffered a badly broken wing.
Ofc. DeFelice brought this beauty to our amazing Veterinarians (and technicians!) at Kensington Bird and Animal Hospital who took radiographs, removed the shot and pinned the fractured bone. Ofc. DeFelice then brought the bird up to Audubon Sharon where she was Rehabilitated and received post-op flight conditioning.
Not only was this female hawk large in size, her personality was fiery and larger than life!
Ofc. DeFelice did the honors of returning this special soul back to the wild where she belongs. Because of the amazing work of Ofc. DeFelice and KBAH, she flies free another day.
Once again, we feel all warm and fuzzy inside at all the hands coming together to save wildlife. Wildlife Rehabilitation is a team effort!
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. We are so grateful for such good friends who go above and beyond for wildlife! Thank you!
