Meet Joey, a four-year-old Beagle mix weighing just 23 lbs. He's a confident dog who loves to go with the flow. With his typical Beagle curiosity, he enjoys exploring and has an outgoing personality. He appreciates affection and attention but can also be independent. 🐶
Joey thrives with a walk or two every day and is more low-maintenance energy-wise. He would do great in a home with children of all ages and has been somewhat indifferent to other dogs. He’d appreciate a dog friend as independent as he is or would be happy as an only dog. We’re unsure how he feels about cats, but we can cat-test him if needed. 🐾

These sweet, healthy puppies, aged 8-10 weeks, come in all shapes and sizes, with a mix of breeds. They're looking for foster homes within 45 minutes of Danbury to embark on their journey from Georgia partner shelters on Saturday, May 4th. 🐾
As a foster, you provide the love, and we'll supply the food and supplies! Before adoption, all puppies will be spayed/neutered and microchipped at the DAWS clinic. Plus, fosters have the first option to ADOPT their furry foster friend! 🏡

🐶 Meet Tobias, Tommy, Theo, Tobi, Trudy, Thea and Tabby! These three-month-old shepherd mix pups will be arriving on March 30. They weigh 13-16 lbs, so we expect that they will be around 45-50 lbs and fully grown. The pups are playful, sweet, social, and adorable! 😊 They are altered, microchipped, vaccinated for age, and healthy. Our puppy adoption fee is $445. We will be adopting these pups out on Sunday, April 7. If you wish to adopt one of these cuties, email daws@ daws.org for information on how to apply. Glenn quickly captured the heart of his foster. His affectionate nature put a smile on her face and warmed her heart daily. But as the days passed, Glenn began to show signs of illness. He grew lethargic, his appetite waned, and his once bright eyes dulled with discomfort. Concerned for his well-being, his foster mom wasted no time in seeking medical attention for him.
After a thorough examination, Glenn was found to be a medical mystery. The veterinarians ran bloodwork and took x-rays, searching for what was causing him to decline. His results were inconclusive, so Glenn was being treated for his symptoms, but the cause was unknown. He showed no improvement and was hospitalized soon after. Glenn received six days of round-the-clock care to keep him going. He had an MRI and a spinal tap before a diagnosis of Inflammatory Meningoencephalitis.
Despite the odds stacked against him, Glenn fought with every ounce of strength. He endured days of intensive therapy, battling fever, dehydration, and weakness. The hospital staff stayed by his side, offering comfort and encouragement in his darkest moments.
Slowly but surely, he began to show signs of improvement. His appetite returned, he gained control over his body, and his energy gradually returned. Each small victory filled the hospital and the team at DAWS with hope, reinforcing the belief in Glenn’s resilience. After a week of tireless effort and unwavering dedication, Glenn emerged victorious.
Glenn continues to improve with each new day. He is ready to begin his new life and leave his past behind. We are so grateful that he landed in our hands and that we could get him the help he needed.
Glenn’s journey has touched the hearts of many, reminding them of the importance of compassion and kindness. But his story is among numerous others, and many animals still need help. As the final pages of his tale unfold, we must remember that we all have the power to make a difference.
