In English, we say: “I miss you.”
But in poetry, we say:
“I trace the shape of your absence in the spaces where your laughter used to linger,
and let the echoes of you fill the hollow hours.”

In English, we say: “I don’t know how to let go.”
But in poetry, we say:
“I carry you in my chest like a stone—
heavy, unyielding, and carved with the sharp edges of what once was.”

In English, we say: “I feel lost.”
But in poetry, we say:
“The compass of my heart spins wildly now,
its needle drawn to places it can no longer call home.”

In English, we say: “I wish it were different.”
But in poetry, we say:
“I water the garden of could-have-beens with tears,
waiting for flowers that refuse to bloom.”

In English, we say: “I hope you’re happy.”
But in poetry, we say:
“May the sun that warms your days and
be as kind to as the first kiss of dew on the dawning light upon the leafs of the laurel that we once made love under”

In English, we say: “You hurt me.”
But in poetry, we say:
“You planted thorns in my chest with hands I once trusted,
and now every breath feels like an apology I shouldn’t owe.”

In English, we say: “I wanted to stay.”
But in poetry, we say:
“I lingered at the edge of your world,
a star burning quietly, unnoticed in your vast, indifferent sky.”

In English, we say: “I’m trying to move on.”
But in poetry, we say:
“I untangle your name from my veins each morning,
only to find it woven into my dreams again at night.”

In English, we say: “I’ll be okay.”
But in poetry, we say:
“I gather the shattered pieces of myself like broken glass,
knowing someday, even scars can catch the light.”

With poetry I write paths through gardens of grace with words in ways my body dare not go as a whole.

Patience reminded me that good things take time to grow.
Peace reminded me to stay calm amidst life’s storms.
Hope reminded me of brighter days ahead.
Humility reminded me to uplift others, not diminish myself.
Kindness reminded me to be compassionate to myself and others.
Confidence reminded me to embrace my gifts unapologetically.
Focus reminded me to let go of others’ judgments.
Freedom reminded me that I control my mindset and well-being.
Love reminded me it already exists within me.

Cheers to a new year, a fresh start, and another chance,
To get it right, to make amends, and to dance,
With hope and joy, we’ll face the unknown,
And make this year, a year to call our own.

May our mistakes be lessons, and our fears be few,
May we learn to love, and to live anew,
May this year bring us wisdom, and a heart that’s true,
And may all our dreams, and hopes, come shining through.

Yes, I am a dreamer.
For a dreamer is one
who can only find his way
by moonlight,
and his punishment is that
he sees the dawn before
the rest of the world.

Remember as a child
When you’d walk amongst the trees
And you’d find a stick that held
So many possibilities?

It could’ve been an arrow
It could’ve been a sword
It could’ve been a telescope,
A microphone, an oar

It could’ve been a hook you used
To catch things from afar
And it could’ve been a catapult
That launched a shooting star

It could’ve been a flute
That played a song you knew so well
And it could’ve been a wand
Ready to cast a thousand spells

Well, now what if I told you
That the stick was all of these?
Because there lies a certain
Sense of magic in the trees

A magic that reminds us
We are not too old to play
That helps us see the awe and wonder
Wrapped in every day

See, the forest is our playground
And the paths between the trees
Are endless new beginnings
Of adventures to be seized

So grab that stick and row to shore
Then search the midnight sky
Play your favourite song
Then cast a spell that makes you fly

Catch a shooting star
Then launch it back beyond the clouds
Search for hidden gold
And mark an X upon the ground

Remember how it feels to live
Like you’ve nothing to lose
When just a simple stick can be
Whatever you might choose

Then seize those new beginnings
Strewn across the forest floor
‘Cause adventure’s out there waiting
So, what are you waiting for?

❥❥❥🐇🥕🐇❥❥❥

On the stroke of midnight tonight, you can resolve to be better, if you like…
to be fitter,
to eat cleaner,
to work harder.

On the stroke of midnight tonight,
you can resolve to become a whole new you,
if you so choose.

Or, you can take a moment to acknowledge
all you already are.
Because it’s a lot.
You’re a lot.

And you deserve to be commended.

On the stroke of midnight tonight, perhaps you could congratulate yourself, for coping.
For breaking, again,
and for rebuilding, again.

For catching the stones life has thrown at you,
and using them to build your castle that little bit stronger.

You have endured, my friend.

And I don’t see the need to resolve to become a whole new you,
when you are already so very much indeed.

Happy new year.

You made it.

Now let us face another 365 day-turn, arms wide,
accepting, embracing and ‘seeing’ each other,
for all we are..

CAMILLE CLAUDEL. Born in 1864 and died in 1943. FORGOTTEN by everyone in a mental hospital.
What had she done?
She came to study in PARIS at a time when the Fine Arts School was OPEN ONLY TO MEN. That’s why she took lessons in artist studios that accepted WOMEN. There, she met and became the lover of the most famous sculptor of the time: Auguste Rodin. Their relationship was both passionate and artistic; they worked and sculpted together (the Rodin museum and the Orsay museum preserve beautiful works from this era).
Then he left her, having lived with another woman for years. He, the artist loved and respected by all... she was denigrated, abandoned, and even marginalized “artistically”. She lived alone, no longer trusted anyone, and her WORKS were not for sale. Additionally, his brother was the famous poet, writer, diplomat, and academic Paul Claudel.
The FAMILY decided to INTERNATE HER, viewing this WOMAN as too “MODERN” for the time and an embarrassment to the household. We have letters she wrote to friends and family seeking help; for 30 years, she tried to explain to hospital staff the INJUSTICE she was experiencing.
These are heart-wrenching testimonies that reveal the lucidity of the WOMAN in the hospital. She practically STARVED to death on October 19, 1943, in a French public hospital, and no family member attended her FUNERAL. Her remains were laid in a common grave.
Today, the legacy of CAMILLE CLAUDEL has been completely REHABILITATED. her works are exhibited NEXT TO Rodin’s, and a museum a few kilometers from Paris is entirely DEDICATED to her

On December 29th, a very special human being, friend, daughter, and Mother was born!
Happy Birthday Cap Sister. Love you and miss you. We’re doing Paris one year soon…or AT LEAST sipping Champagne poolside at the Peninsula (like we are in this photo). I hope this year brings you an abundance of happiness, love, and joy. Muah! 💋

Patience visited me
And it reminded me
That good things take time to come to fruition
And grow slowly with stability

Peace visited me
And it reminded me
That I may remain calm through the storms of life
Regardless of the chaos surrounding me

Hope visited me
And it reminded me
That better times lay ahead
And it would always be there to guide and uplift me

Humility visited me
And it reminded me
That I may achieve it
Not by trying to shrink myself and make myself less
But by focusing on serving the world and uplifting those around me

Kindness visited me
And it reminded me
To be more gentle, forgiving and compassionate toward myself
And those surrounding me

Confidence visited me
And it reminded me
To not conceal or suppress my gifts and talents
In order to make others feel more comfortable
But to embrace what makes me me

Focus visited me
And it reminded me
That other people’s insecurities and judgements about me
Are not my problem
And I should redirect my attention
From others back to me

Freedom visited me
And it reminded me
That no one has control over my mindset, thoughts and wellbeing
But me

And love visited me
And it reminded me
That I need not search for it in others
As it lies within me.

The story of Alice, first introduced in Lewis Carroll’s Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There (1871), holds a deep connection to the Victorian era’s fascination with alternate realities, paradoxes, and the exploration of one’s own identity. The idea of stepping through a mirror to enter another world taps into the Victorian preoccupation with boundaries—be they between childhood and adulthood, reality and fantasy, or the material and the spiritual.

During the late 19th century, the Victorian era was marked by intense intellectual curiosity. It was a time when science, religion, and the supernatural collided, prompting many to question the nature of reality. Alice’s journey through the looking-glass can be seen as a metaphor for a deeper philosophical exploration. Mirrors, throughout history, have symbolized duality—the reflection of oneself, but also the possibility of something more. In Alice’s case, the looking-glass serves as a portal to a world that is both familiar and strange, where logic is upended, and the laws of reality seem to bend.

The layers within Alice’s story suggest that life itself is a journey of transformation, self-discovery, and the breaking of societal constraints. Alice, though young, embodies a deep sense of curiosity and adventure, reflecting the growing spirit of rebellion and individualism that characterized Victorian youth. At the same time, her journey through the looking-glass speaks to the Victorian obsession with introspection and the search for truth in a rapidly changing world.

In many ways, Alice’s passage through the mirror offers a playful yet profound exploration of the human psyche. As we reflect on her story, we might also consider how we, too, are constantly searching for meaning, whether in dreams, the mysteries of the world around us, or the inner depths of our own minds.
