🧡✨🐾 Puppy Socialization 🐾✨🧡
At 10 weeks old these pups are absorbing information at a massively rapid rate. They literally are little sponges learning and soaking up everything they can - the good and bad.
Now is the perfect time and so important for their development to get them socialized to all sorts of things: people, places, sounds, shapes, smells, surfaces, objects, etc. However it’s a fine balance of getting them properly socialized and keeping them safe due to not being fully vaccinated yet.
You can still take them places to be socialized but it’s up to you to be diligent and protect your new baby. If you take them to public places, you will need to carry them or hold them. Putting them down on the ground where you don’t know for sure 100% what was there before you, then don’t take that risk. You can come up with alternative ways of protecting them, like using a crate, a sling, a playpen with a bottom, etc. Keep outings to 20-30 max or even shorter at first until they get more and more comfortable. The game is to just expose them to lots of different things, not have marathon sessions. Even a short 20 minute socialization session will be a lot for them and I can almost guarantee they will crash out for a nap once you get back in the car or home! Information overload.
Be aware though that they are going through their first fear impact stage and so you need to be very in tune with how they are reacting to anything new and not force anything that is just too much. if they’re not feelin’ it … don’t push it today. Go back to where you knew they were comfortable and take the next step another day. On the flip side through you don’t also want to keep them in a bubble for the next 6 weeks because the spongy brain open window will be closing soon after that and it could be harder for them emotionally to accept new things or situations. Again finding that right balance for you and your pup!

Little miss is getting super bored at my office … so constantly needing to come up with creative ways to divert her attention from chewing things she shouldn’t (ahem … computer cords!! 😳🤦🏻♀️) to chew approved things. Was about to toss out this stuffy carcass but then thought I’d tie it by its tail and hang it … success! 😁👍

Exploration Walks!
Happy Friday! We’ve been doing these daily exploration walks for weeks with this litter. Now that these last few pups 💜💚🧡 are 9 weeks old, we’ve been increasing the challenge level and allowing them to explore even more … and they LOVE it!

This girl has personality plus! She has a very sweet personality but also has a very confident personality too. She’s loves getting loved on but can also just go off and explore or quietly chew on her toys on her own. She was a little more on the quiet side with young kids and it took her a bit to take it all in, so for that reason I feel she would excel in a home with older kids or adults. Due to her confident nature so far, she will need someone who understands that she may test the boundaries but oh boy once she knows and understands what is expected she will be a very loyal amazing family dog who will be ready for any type of adventure. She is a beautiful pup with a lovely confirmation. She is also very smart and curious and playful! One of our bigger female pups out of this litter, as of 7/7 weighed 14 lbs 3.2oz 💜💜💜

This boy has such a sweet and quiet disposition. He loves getting loved on and really LOVES his belly rubs! He did great with all of the kids that came out to visit the puppies, however he did get a little nervous when things got a bit chaotic, but recovered very quickly and will come right over and climb in your lap for loves. I feel with his middle of the road personality he’d do great in any type of home whether that be a quiet retired couple or a house with kids.
He’s is a super stout boy and pretty sure he’s is going to have a super chill personality and just be a wonderful all around family dog that will love to lounge around on a lazy Sunday but also ready to tackle that early morning Saturday hike! He is a lover and a really wonderful cuddle bug! Is curious and confident, playful and very smart. Just an all around really nice puppy. Would do great in any type of home. As of 7/7 weighed 15 lbs 8.4oz 💚💚💚
