Mr. and Mrs. Santa Paws had a great visit with the residents of Meadow Lakes, culminating in a visit to Santa Claus (aka Chaplain Bill of Accent Care). Oh what fun it is to share the love of Jesus throughout the year!

Due to my own health issues, we have not been able to make our regular visits. We went to Meadow Lakes on Friday briefly, where residents loved seeing them again.

While attending a Mark Lowry concert earlier this year, they were selling these shirts for dogs (and humans) based on his routine of "Dogs go to heaven Psalm 36:6". Add feathered angel wings and voila! a costume to delight our friends at Meadow Lakes on Halloween and share Jesus with them.

Seamus was Mr. Spock and Jessie was the Little Mermaid on the day before Halloween. The residents of Pine Tree Lodge loved our visit! One resident asked if Seamus was supposed to be Elvis Presley. Obviously not a Star Trek fan!

After two weeks of violent thunderstorms and heavy rain, Seamus and I got to visit again. It is too hot to sit outside, so we were allowed to sit in the hallway during Happy Hour at one of our Friday facilities, so people could come by to pet him.

Jessie retired from Canines for Christ yesterday at Meadow Lakes Assisted Living in Tyler. We held a party on the porch during "Happy Hour" so that people could come and say goodbye. She and Seamus shared a homemade "spoiled doggy" cake. With over 1,050 visits to her credit, teaching Seamus how therapy dogs work, and loving on so many people, she is getting a well- deserved rest. Thank you, Jessie, for bringing the love of Jesus into so many lives!

We have changed our name from East Texas Canines for Christ to Therapy Dogs Jessie and Seamus. We still are members of Canines for Christ (k9forchrist.org), and still volunteer with AccentCare Hospice! Please continue to follow these two in their adventures, bringing the peace and comfort only God can bring to people through the warmth of fur and soulful eyes, visiting and making new friends every week, along with handler and mom Leslie sharing the good news of Jesus Christ..

Today was National Therapy Dog Appreciation Day. Jessie has been a therapy dog since 2015 and Seamus since 2020. The joy they bring, and the anticipation of our visits shows everyone that Jesus is the One comes through the door with us, and it is His presence that fills their hearts. We are just His hands, feet and paws. It is very humbling to serve Him this way. Praise Him!

Canines for Christ is now in East Texas

Pioneered by Chaplain Larry Randolph, Canines for Christ has been in existence since July 2007. God has blessed many people through this ministry and changed lives. We are honored to give Him all the glory and humbled to be representing our Lord in communities all over the world. New dogs, volunteers and Chaplains are being added constantly to serve God in this unique ministry. With God’s blessings, we hope to expand in many more locations. Praise God! We give Him all the glory!

East Texas Canines for Christ is ready to add more therapy dog teams to visit the sick, the lonely, the children, the First Responders. We need more members to be able to share the love and compassion of Christ with our friends and neighbors, and a world looking for hope.
