Well if Ralph has been ridden before, it was long enough ago that he forgot. This is day 4 of using a rope to get him used to the feeling of something around his girth. Little George is trying to help.
Ralph has been here for a month. He was hard to catch but he is stepping up when asked and easy to catch outside now. He will let me pick up all four and rub all over his head. We will start with some saddle pad work now.

This was the second time Jameson was trimmed. Patience is key to having a relaxed mule.
This is the first time the farrier came to trim Jameson. He was not too sure.
First steps would be leading and desensitizing. I don't always put these but will going forward so others can see the process.
This is what trust looks like. When working with mules, they like to earn trust as much as us trainers like earning the trust. Now we can move forward with new stuff without a glitch.
