Watching Bob Avila on YouTube 15 years ago with Jessica Rodgers or Andrea Fappani at the Equine Affair in Norco, Clinton Anderson on RFDTV, and Stacey Westfall bareback and bridless...it's a huge privilege to watch the legacy of the greats unfold in my lifetime and they will be surely missed.

Rest in peace big guy! It's so strange to see all the great horses I watched on TV as a kid pass away. They are in the company if great horseman and women for sure.

After 21 wonderful years together and millions of milestones achieved, the inevitable day has arrived — our program’s cornerstone stallion, A Streak Of Fling, has been laid to rest at the age of 25.

We mourn the loss of “Streaker,” who was euthanized on September 5, 2024, after unexpected complications occurred during recovery from a scheduled surgery. We know many in the industry will mourn alongside us, but we find comfort in knowing he left this world on his own terms. We smile knowing Brian is welcoming him in Heaven with open arms. The arena is groomed, and the calves are ready to run a few more together.

Looking back, I can see how Brian and Streaker both beat the odds. Brian’s fight with glioblastoma, and how long he was able to live with it, was an incredible thing. And Streaker…well, there was no money behind him because we just didn’t have it to put there. We are one of the few programs that grew penny by penny in the beginning, and we managed to put it all together to build something really special.

What this stallion has done for us — how he has provided for us and allowed us to work together as a family — it’s hard to put a number on the value of that. No matter how high his progeny earnings climb, his importance to this family can never be quantified by numbers alone.

Streaker will be laid to rest at Fulton Performance Horses in South Dakota, where he will keep eternal watch over his band of broodmares, sons, and daughters — who will continue to influence the Western performance industry long after today.

A fantastic family to have at your facility!

Just starting to put feelers out there, but our year lease here in Arizona is up the end of November. So my husband and I and our two kids are looking for our next adventure.

Looking for a horse facility management position, a lease or rental property, or contract for deed etc. Need something with an on property home, and a minimum of arena and pens (stall barn, pasture, round pen, wash rack, tack room are all big pluses!)

We buy, sell, train and consign. Specialize in photography, videography, advertisement and marketing.

My husband and I have a ton of experience and references. We pay our bills on time and keep things clean & professional.

Have you ever been told to not allow a hot, sweaty horse to drink cold water because it could lead to colic, founder or tie up?

This notion is actually a myth, and a dangerous one too, because it could lead to dehydration and very serious (and real) consequences. A sweaty, hardworking horse needs to be rehydrated without delay (i.e. don’t wait for the horse to cool down first).

The key, however, is to know how much water to allow at one time — because of the equine stomach’s relatively small capacity, offer small amounts of water every 20 minutes until the horse drinks his fill rather than letting the animal drink it all at once.

Remember that water is the most vital nutrient for a horse. A horse’s daily water requirements are influenced by many factors, but the average idle 1,100-pound horse in a cool environment will drink 6 to 10 gallons of water per day. That amount may easily double or triple in a hot environment! Therefore, it goes without saying that providing cool, clean water to your horses at all times is of paramount importance.
