Great things coming! We are so excited!!

UABA Match Status Update! 🥳 We’re excited to share that our Matches are underway, and we can’t wait to bring our vision to life. However, none of this would be possible without the generous support of our community. Fundraising plays a critical role in turning our goals into achievements. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us move one step closer to our mission.

NORTH's First Match has been booked, approved and posted for Thursday, September 26, 2024 in Lloydminster, Alberta, Canada in conjunction with the UKC Prairies Club & Lloydminster CKC Club! REAL Ribbons have been ordered for BIM/RBIM, and plastic rosettes/flats are being created for the event (see picture). 🇨🇦 There is talk of hosting a 2nd match in the Calgary area at a later date, we will update with those details once we know more.

I’m super excited for the kennel. A step in the right direction. Our scores aren’t all perfect, but we will be breeding in the right direction! More testing to come to start the beginning of a promising future!

The Endless Debate Over Type vs. Soundness

The debates over type vs soundness are endless. Recently I was twice “accused” of wanting a sound dog during my judging so I decided to pencil down my thoughts on the subject.

Do I want or expect dogs to be good on their feet? Definitely! But they must look like their breed as well. For me, a “sound dog” shouldn’t be an oxymoron, it should be a given. If a dog has difficulty navigating around a dog show ring does it really fit into any breed standard? Every breed standard calls for a sound dog so if you actually have to ask if a judge thinks it’s important then maybe you should be asking yourself why you think it isn’t important? Cuteness overload! Pictures of Espeon throughout her 8 months of life. She is one of the sweetest girl’s I’ve ever met. She is great with humans and great with dogs.

Small pest and small animals- not so much. She has a great deal of energy, but turns it off and loves to hang out and lounge on the couch.

She enjoys car rides and belly rubs.

Today is a hard day. Yesterday we got Saban’s OFA prelims back. I was super excited, but after reading his results his hips scored mild- not the best, but for me workable, but then we were devastated with his shoulder and elbow results (one normal and the other failing).

He will no longer be a show or breeding prospect as he is syptomatic of elbow dysplasia. Def a bummer, but a part of breeding and health testing.

He is available for pet home. For those who have inquired about him in the past. He is an amazingly sweet dog. He is loyal, calm, has a very high tolerance for foolishness. He is kid friendly and a big couch potato.
