This is the lovely Via, who is a 10 yr old Greyhound. She comes to Sound for caudal cervical intervertebral disk disease and osteoarthritis pain. This is her first acupuncture session, and she did so well. Atta a girl Via, you are amazing.

Veterinary technicians, nurses and assistants are the very backbone of any veterinary practice. We would not be the doctors we are without our support team. Veterinary medicine is a team sport, from the front door to the parking lot, it takes a village. This week, in honor of National Vet Tech week, I would like to thank my team, Jason Herbert , Lyndsay Tulloss , Kahla Julaka, Marisa Joiner (we miss you), Stormie Bagwell and Jessica Hudson for all that you do each week to keep the wheels on the bus. It's that time! We had so many great costumes this year which made it tough for The Sound Team to pick the winners of our costume contest. Winners were selected based on creativity, originality and how their costumes fit their personality or current life situations/limitations. Drum roll please... First place: Ice cream Lucy: Lucy is a 16 yr old that lost the use of all 4 legs and is in a quad cart to help with her mobility. Her Mom and Dad transformed her cart into a rolling, music playing ice cream truck! So creative and fun! Second Place: Zoey The Drunken Tourist: Zoey is recovering from a spinal injury that causes some wobbliness and incoordination in her rear legs. Her Mom's couldn't have come up with a more creative and humorous costume than a drunken tourist. Third Place is a tie!!!:  Wonder Woman Winnie and Granny Bindi. -Winnie is a 21 week old Golden Retriever puppy that suffered a serious neurologic episode that completely paralyzed all four legs. 2 weeks ago she could barely lift her head. Today, she is maneuvering obstacle courses like a Wonder Woman! -Bindi is a 16 yr old nearly completely blind girl that has the spirit of a tiger and the sass of a Granny. Her limitations do not keep her from rocking the underwater treadmill like a boss, but she is our little Granny dog. Congratulations to all of our winners!! Another one of our Sound Hounds celebrates their Sweet 16 Birthday today! Happy birthday, Lucy! Lucy has been coming to Sound for geriatric fitness for well over a year but has had a recent setback due to suspected intervertebral disc disease. She acutely could not use her back legs. But with some good meds, electroacupuncture, laser therapy, and a lot of rest and TLC from her parents, Lucy is back up on her feet!
