Since most of our business is done on the roads least traveled, we are rescheduling today's appointments. While it maybe easy for regular vehicles to get around on these roads our bus is a different story. It's very heavy & doesn't take much to get sucked into the curb or not make it up the smallest incline or stop on the smallest decline. I spend much of winter in neutral (if you know, you know). Stay safe if you must venture out & about!

As we are all aware of this canine illness & some cases in Fargo/Moorhead area; I thought I would go ahead & let all my clients know that if your dog is sneezing, coughing or just not feeling like themselves I feel it would be best to hold off on grooming, especially if they have been around unfamiliar dogs. We will continue to clean like we always have & monitor NDVMA for information as it becomes available.

I encounter at least one to two skunk dogs a year (knock on wood).

If your dog ever gets sprayed, keep them DRY! Then, use the recipe below followed up with a really good conditioner because the mixture is very drying to the skin.

What is skunk spray? It's an oily sulfurous liquid that comes from their a**l glands. The sulfurous liquid is a yellow oil that clings to most surfaces it comes in contact with; like all oils, it doesn't mix with water. (For the fun fact nerds 🤓) skunk spray can contain as many as 7 different compounds that readily become gas - that pungent rotten egg smell. These compounds are thiols or thiocetates. Most thiols bind strongly & quickly to skin proteins, while thioacetates are normally less odiferous. They're readily converted into thiols when mixed with water. This is the reason the odor becomes more pungent when wet.

The ticks are out! If you haven't done your flea & tick preventive yet this spring, I would not hesitate much longer.

If you find yourself checking for ticks on your pets, make sure to check under ears & flaps, skin folds, gum lines & especially the feet & nail beds.

I won't be out grooming today since my service depends on somewhat accessible roads. It has been a week already for me! 🥴🤣 Between getting sick Wednesday & Thursday AND this storm I'm ready for next week.

Those that were scheduled today please let me know when I can get to you! If I can get out tomorrow and do some I will!

In the mean time, we might as well have a little snow time fun! ⛄ 🏂 ⛷

I got confirmation from our software company that if you respond to any of our texts from 701-501-6700 number with just "cancel" it will stop all correspondence associated with that number. Must be able to work in a confined space, answer the phone, respond to messages, cleaning & lifting (+50 lbs) when needed. Would prefer someone with at least 1 year professional grooming experience, but will train the right individual. Must have a clean driving record with valid license.
