Papa's Pumpkin Patch is a seasonal attraction open every fall in Bismarck, North Dakota, check our Facebook feed for season dates. Admission: $6/person. 2 years and under are free. Well, after all that rain we have plenty of puddles out here at Papa's Pumpkin Patch, but that didn't stop these amazing MSA United Way Day of Caring volunteers from coming out and pitching in! A big thank you to our helpers from Scheels, Cedric Theel Toyota, Rainbow Energy, and our own friends and family for painting, staining, building, repairing, and helping us get ready to welcome YOU this fall! Many North Dakotans recognize Al Gustin, a long-time farmer, rancher, and agriculture reporter for KFYR and other media outlets. While still farming and ranching, Al also volunteers as a "Papa's Playmaker," having great fun he says, applying his woodworking talents to create new items for our approaching fall season. Here's a glimpse of Al's craftsmanship in the "King & Queen" chairs he expertly built for Papa's from repurposed wood spools. He has also completed a fantastic new photo setting (hint: It is BEE-utiful!) and is now working on a new giant game for our Old Tyme Arcade. Seasons greetings from a quiet, pumpkin-less patch! 🎄As we look to year end, we'd like to send a message of gratitude to YOU, our guests, volunteers, and “Papa’s Playmakers” team who made our 40th anniversary season so very special. Thanks to you, this season Papa’s donated over $100,000 in support of 80 local nonprofits and community organizations, bringing our total donations over the years to over $1.2 million. When we first opened in 1983, we could never have imagined that a yard full of pumpkins could generate so much good in our community. It’s an honor to be part of it, watching the impact ripple out through the year. From our family to yours, thank you for being part of the magic. Wow. What a season! A parting shot from Papa's Pumpkin Patch last night as you made a home for every last pumpkin in the patch. This year, we welcomed close to 60,000 guests, including our 1 millionth visitor, sold 500,000 pounds of produce grown by area farmers, shared 200 pumpkin pies with you, and coordinated with 2,000 volunteers, resulting in donations to 60 organizations, with Papa's donating well over $1 million in its past 40 years. Papa's wouldn't be possible without the love and support of this community. Thank you for an amazing season. 🧡

It's Tuesday and we're open 12-7 pm today 🥳 Some of the earliest visitors to Papa's Pumpkin Patch were groups of school children taking field trips to Papa's, such as this group from an undated photo (1990s?). As we celebrate our 40th season, we still welcome hundreds of school children, but we also now welcome adults who tell us they remember coming to Papa's, their own kids in tow to make more memories. We appreciate all the support we've received from the community over the years. Papa's is possible because of YOU!

Happy Monday! Papa's is open today 12-7 pm as we restock the patch after a wonderful weekend. The leaves are golden, the skies sunny, and so many of you came out to play, take photos, and celebrate the season with us. We do our best to make Papa's a special place for you and your friends and family, but YOU also bring your own special magic to it as well. This weekend we had many guests bring our staff lost phones, keys, sweatshirts, baby bottles, stuffed animals, sunglasses, prescription glasses, credit cards, and yes even full wallets. All of you who kindly bring us those items for Lost & Found don't get to see the looks of relief when the items are reunited with their owners. It's a small kindness that makes a big impact, and we're thankful for our guests who continue to pay it forward every day in every way. 🧡

Papa’s Pumpkin Patch exists to support charitable organizations that have families and education as their mission. We are closed for the 2019 season. When open, you can bring your family (even your pets) and celebrate the season with Papa! Admission: $5/person. Toddlers two years and under are free. We offer lots of free activities including bale mazes, a corn maze, log jam, nature trail, Papa’sville wooden play structures, swings galore and photo opportunities. Our pumpkin cannon and pumpkin trebuchet take aim at targets on Thursdays from 5-7 pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 12-5 pm. Activities for a small fee are available Thursdays from 5-7 pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 12-6 pm. They include: zip lines, horse-drawn hayrides, pony rides, train rides, sling shots, pedal carts, a side-by-side Obstacle Course, Papa’s Puttin’ Patch, concessions and a gift store.
