Neville is a 5y/o pit bull mix who was found as a stray on 1/11, suffering from severe skin inflammation, ear infections, and a dead canine tooth. Initially too fearful for an exam, he gradually warmed up to staff and was later started on Trazodone to help cope with stress. He then caught kennel cough, but once he was healthy again, he was neutered, received an ear cleaning, and had his damaged tooth removed. He was cleared for rescue transfer on 1/22 so he could heal medically, then he moved to the volunteer wards on 1/25.

With no immediate rescue interest, he was placed on the MACC foster list and had short-term foster stays, returning both times through no fault of his own. By 2/21, his skin had improved significantly with Apoquel, and he was made available for direct adoption. That same day, he participated in a Fido Field Trip, where he displayed happy, affectionate behavior, showing good social skills when seeing dogs or children in the distance. They said he did amazing with strangers and greeted everyone kindly, adding, “Neville is fantastic, so cute and the sweetest!”

Here is what we know about Neville from his time in foster and in the shelter:
- Medium energy
- Friendly, affectionate, loves getting scratches
- Good with other dogs and people
- Easy to walk on leash & checks in quite often
- Knows sit, shake, down, off, drop, and stretch
- LOVES squeaky toys & playing fetch
- Crate trained (he does very well being crated!)
- Can be mouthy & jumpy, pushy
- Housebroken
- Takes treats gently
- Lots of potential for training & affection in a consistent home

Due to his length of stay, Neville began showing signs of increased kennel stress, so staff found him MACC foster placement on 2/23. Unfortunately, he was returned the next day due to behaviors including lunging, barking, and attempting to bite his fosters. Upon his return to MACC, his kennel stress escalated - he began body-slamming his kennel door, alarm barking, growling, and lunging.

As a result of Neville’s worsening kennel stress/behavior and medical needs, Neville has a deadline to be tagged by Thursday, March 6, or he will be humanely euthanized on Friday, March 7.

If you are affiliated with a rescue partner and wish to foster Neville, please reach out to your intake coordinator. Otherwise, please send us a message if you are willing to foster him with a rescue partner. If you are unable to foster, please pledge below and/or share this post!

Good morning!

Hoping that everyone is recovering from the storm last evening and night.

Recently, we discovered a comment made about this page, filled with false accusations and libelous statements.

We were saddened by this, because the person posting was once very helpful as we set up this page and as we began to advocate for better conditions at BAC.

Just to clear up some of the inaccuracies and concerns:

We aren’t employed by BAC. Never have been.

We don’t ever take pledges for this page; all pledges are directed to the rescues.

We don’t have any authority to decide which rescues are permitted to foster through BAC; that lies solely with the Animal Control Officer.

We do our best to get the information out, call rescues suggested to us, and share what information we are able to gather to help rescues know about the lost and abandoned pets at BAC.

This is all done without any compensation and during any free time we have available.

We have had to remove some posts which contain libelous statements. We don’t engage in drama because drama is a time and energy thief.

Conflict and differences of opinion are handled in a manner befitting the responsible adults that we are.

The more we work together, the better for the lost and abandoned pets who end up at BAC.

Thanks to everyone doing their best to “keep calm and rescue on!”

Pledging is a promise to pay a donation for a particular animal in need. You can pledge any amount you like – every bit helps. Rescues depend on donations to help animals in their care so your dollars support their ability to pull from BAC.

To make a pledge, comment on the post of the animal you wish to help stating the amount. Once the animal is placed into rescue, you will be notified as to how and where to honor your pledge. Thank you for your support!
