Their snuggles? Their little “Wheeks”? Their popcorning and zoomies?

Everything! I appreciate the love and joy Guinea Pigs can bring into anyone’s life the most!

And I also appreciate that I get to spend every day finding people that can appreciate my piggies as much as I do! ❤️

We are SO proud of Molly and Bella! ❤️
Bella was adopted with her sister, Bubblegum, to this incredible family back in December. They have been so deeply loved and cherished every moment since!
This weekend, Bella and and Molly competed in their county fair and took home Grand Champion for Showmanship for Beginner, as well as Grand Champion for Most Colorful Animal out of all small animals!
How wonderful is that?! 🥹❤️

I am so delighted and proud to see my rescue piggies out there doing such amazing things in the arms of such amazing new families! This makes my whole month! ❤️

📣 HEY YOU! Fireworks are going to disturb animals, wild and domestic alike. Do you know what to do if you find an animal in need?

WILD

Remember: dark, warm, and quiet. For young animals, a shoebox with a soft towel or blanket (please be careful not to have loose frays nails can get snagged in!), with an electric heat pad on low under half the box or other heat source (like a sock filled with rice and microwaved), and keep the box somewhere dark and quiet, like a spare bathroom or closet. Sick or injured adults can have similar setups minus the heat. Please do not give any medications to injured adults - including neosporin or dog antibiotic sprays. Please do not handle or try to offer food or water, (adults or juveniles) instead get in contact with a rehabber ASAP! We’re available nearly 24/7 via Facebook messenger or text at 574-993-2235 (unknown phone calls will not be answered). DOMESTIC

Most of this info applies to cats and dogs, as they’re the ones most likely to escape during this time, but smaller animals may be startled as well. If your pets get anxious, consider making a cozy space with additional treats and enrichment toys, like toilet paper tubes with newspaper and treats, to distract them from the scary sounds. You could play some music softly as well!

Shelters see an influx of animals after the 4th of July unfortunately. The boom of fireworks leads to animals bolting. First thing to know - if you’re getting worried about your pets being nervous, they might pick up on that! Talk to your animals calmly and continue normal routines as much as you’re able to. Talk to your vet about anti anxiety medications if your pet has a history of severe reactions to these sorts of similar stressors. If your pet goes inside and outside, make sure they’re chipped, and making sure they’re wearing a collar with your information is always helpful!

Sweet Cocoa found her Furever Home with a new sister today! ❤️ Her new family traveled down to Bloomington to meet her and it was love! I am so happy to see this girl finally go on to her Happily Ever After!

Last week I asked local eateries in town if they had veggie scraps to spare for the rescue pigs.
Numerous locations volunteered to generously donate veggies to the piggies here at Cheeky Wheekies Guinea Pig Rescue as well as my fellow rescue friends at The Pipsqueakery!

Today, BuffaLouie's at The Gables blew our minds with this massive box of goodies for all the critters!
We are so excited to distribute the goods to everyone at the rescues and make some little bellies VERY happy!

Show them some love for us, as they showed some love to our animal pals! ❤️ Special thanks to Ozzie for reaching out to make this happen!

We had a bit of a wild 24 hours here in Bloomington!
Most of the city was without power after a Microburst wreaked havoc on the town, and it was a mess!
Thankfully, the piggies are all doing well and the weather is not nearly as warm as it could be right now. We hope everyone in the area is safe and recovering well from the damage today!

In the meantime, here are Skipper and Dot in their adopted home living their best lives ❤️ Look at the happiness on those little faces 🥹

Howdy!

I’m Sara, and I’m the face behind Cheeky Wheekies Guinea Pig Rescue!
I am 100% a Crazy Guinea Pig Lady, and proud of it!
I have been rescuing piggies for over two years now and nothing makes me happier!

I’ve been an animal lover since I first laid eyes on one, and I have a background in Shelter Management, Veterinary Technician experience, and have also managed a major chain Pet Store. My heart has always been in rescue, and experience inside a pet store only fueled that.

My goal is to one day expand my little rescue so large that I need a staff to help me run everything. For now, it’s just me doing all the feeding, cleaning, vetting (with the help of Dr Kruze at Bedford Animal Hospital when needed) and more.

I am currently intaking and adopting out Piggies all over Southern Indiana and beyond! I have traveled as far as Ohio, Kentucky and even Tennessee before for piggies!

I hope that I continue to meet others who love these little creatures as deeply as I do. I have never met an animal quite like these guys that are as loving, full of personality and intelligent!
I’m very eager to educate the world on caring for and enjoying these guys, and ever more eager to find them homes that adore them the way I do! ❤️

Adoption fees are $40 for single piggies (must have other pigs currently), $60 for piggie pairs, and $75 for trios.

All piggies have been vetted and are current on lice/mite medication, supplements, and have had a full exam.

Couldn’t ask for a more perfect home for these girls 🥹❤️ I will miss Tater and Tootsie terribly, but I am so thrilled they are in a home where they will be treated like the absolute Queens that they are! ❤️ It also helps knowing I’ll be getting pics and vids of them on the daily 😉 Adoptions make my soul happy.

Meet the Geezer Herd! 👴🏻🧓🏻 Snoop Dogg is the head of his harem of old ladies…plus Commando lol Everyone in this cage is 4 or older, the eldest right now being 7. Swirly is also here because she has to stay with gentle and calm pigs so she doesn’t get beat up. All of my Senior piggies have a special diet and are NOT adoptable. When I take in an elderly piggie, they spend their Golden Years here living their best life, including weekly grass grazing (weather permitting). Please excuse my rambling in the video…I’m still sick with some pneumonia. lol Also the spray back on the wall I am working on as I deep clean today. It never ends 🤣

⚠️Possibly trigger warning for those who may be a bit squeamish or angered easily.⚠️
This post is not to shame anyone, so please keep comments civil.
This sweet girl came to me today with one of the most messed up mouths I’ve seen to date. Upon inintake, I could smell infection while I was clipping her nails. I started to search and immediately found the culprit in her mouth.
Thankfully, I was able to reach out to my friends at to help her out right away, as they are far bigger and more experienced than I and have immediate access to veterinary care. She is safely in their care now and will be undergoing lots of dental work to fix her poor little mouth 💔 I am so thankful for Alex and the PS and all I learn from them!
I was calling her Veneers while she was with me, but she is now Twila ❤️
It is VITAL when you consider owning a piggie that you understand that dental health is a top priority in their care. Timothy hay ruffage and chews are needed to keep their forever growing teeth short and trim to prevent overgrowth like sweet Twila had. Once the situation is this dire, it requires antibiotics and pain meds routinely. Her bottoms incisors are missing and as her upper teeth continue to keep growing, the bottoms will struggle to keep up. So she will need dental routines for the rest of her life. She is safely in sanctuary now at .
Please consider the fact that the care of these precious critters CAN include vet bills to cover issues with dental health on occasion due to the animals breeding and more. If this isn’t an expense you can take on possibly, then these guys may not be for you.

We are getting super low on hay and my suppliers have not yet cut and baled for the season! 😱 I am done to my last 3 bales from my stock pile from last fall and need help until probably Early June at this rate. If you are able to donate ANY Oxbow or Grandpas’s Best Timothy or Orchard Grass hay from the WishList to help get the piggies through a few more weeks it would mean everything to me AND the piggies! It’s incredible to me that they have gone through TWENTY TWO 50 lb bales of hay since last August!! That is a LOT of hay for a LOT of hungry, hungry peegs! 🤣

And special congrats to this beautiful young woman who stopped her photo shoot to greet Rooster as we walked by and allowed me to photograph him with her!
