FALL 2023
Any day this week our AKC registered White Russian ‘Chai’ is expecting!! She was bred in August to my little AKC Blue Merle ‘Chino’. Chino has to go get a job cause he’s gonna be a DADDY AGAIN!!! This week we brought Chai to the vet and had her X-RAYed. They counted approx 4 possibly 5 babies !! Typically Poms have a 58-63 day gestation period with 1-3 puppies. Chai is on the larger side (8-9 lbs ) .. Chino is 5.3 lbs. The AKC standard is 5-7lbs so Chai’s size takes her past that. She however makes up with an excellent full coat and high intelligence. Both parents are registered AKC and at this time puppies are not yet available. We have one reserved but feel free to pm us directly with questions. 🥰

TREES TREES & MORE TREES! The farm is shaping up from consisting primarily of raw pasture land. This week we added a Norway Spruce to the donut island. Her name is Nora 2.0 and this gorgeous Cherry Tree beside the farmhouse. Her name is Sherri Garcia

We are preparing in every way possible for fly control as we enter our first spring full time on the new farm. We are ‘picking’ our 13 acres of pastures, the horses have started on their Simplify supplements over the past couple of weeks , they were dewormed yesterday and we also have fly predators from Spalding Labs and auto fly spray canisters getting ready to go up in the barn. We are taking an additional approach to insect control given all the wonderful birds we have noticed on the land. We have seen this done at a local horse riding resort.

Not quite ready … but floors are in ( gorgeous but covered for now ) and countertops are underway. Brick work goes into full swing and carpentry finishing hopefully next week. We will figure out furnishing storage tomorrow.

1 WEEK COUNT DOWN!! We have our Farmhouse furnishings loading on the truck this Thursday and Friday we make the big journey… we are hoping this week the trim work , painting , brick work and flooring are in so we may put our big items in… 🙏🏻. We ordered our ‘temp to perm’ electric work order today BRMEMC - Blue Ridge Mountain Electric Membership Corporation and I was able to contact Weather Shield Windows & Doors to expedite the delivery of the one mismeasured window from Sept to Aug 4th ! Not only are their windows impressive , they have excellent customer service ! New Horizon Homes, Inc is getting it done !! Team Work 💪🏻 ( thank you Lauren for the photos !! And being on site daily !)

18 Days before furniture arrives … Our builder is full speed ahead 💪🏻 exterior painting is almost done. We have an awesome paint crew doing it right with sealing EACH batten ! New resized kitchen upper bank cabinets arrived yesterday too. Trim work continues inside.

21 DAY COUNTDOWN before our furniture arrives 🙏🏻 but look what our builder has accomplish in just 9 days since our last update ! They are knocking it out of the park !

30 Day COUNT DOWN !! Furniture arrives July 30th so we are in the final stretch … foundation started Dec 20th .. with 6 months into our build we are nearing the end 🙏🏻 Trim work is in progress. Our big crazy splurge ( RH chandelier) living room chandelier arrives Monday , appliances are being delivered July 7th … we met with painters yesterday … brick work is scheduled July 15-17th. I’ll be posting a bit more interior updates as the finishing touches happen.
