A bit hobble is even better than a curb strap on a snaffle set-up. It helps to balance the bit and return it to center in the mouth when pressure is released, as a properly used snaffle works side to side in the mouth. Snaffle set ups are also best used with a browband headstall that has a throatlatch, and split reins or reins long enough to use each side independently.
