Nemo Swim Beach is reopening, Wheatland Beach is still open. Fees are not being collected through the Fathers Day / Juneteenth Holiday Weekend. As always users are cautioned to evaluate conditions before swimming.

• This spring, large inflows carrying abundant plant nutrients have boosted the algae populations in many areas of Pomme de Terre Lake.

• Signs are being posted at access areas where algae blooms have been observed advising caution and to avoid areas of concentrated algae.

• Visitors are reminded to exercise their best judgement while recreating. If you see concentrated algae, a “paint like” surface or bright green water, avoid water contact and keep pets away.

• Dogs are highly sensitive to algal toxins and are attracted to the blooms. Avoid any sign of algae concentration with pets.
