This beautiful fluffy dog is Red. Red is one of our big dogs that reside at Spirit Animal Sanctuary. Red is big but gentle, and loves the jerky treats and meat sticks. He took the Milk Bones but set them aside for later. Red would love to have your help to keep him happy and comfortable as he lives out his life with us at the sanctuary.

Let's talk about BRENNER! Brenner is a sweetheart who does really well on a leash when it's time to go to the groomer or put on a jacket. He's got a deep bark like a big dog but a gentle demeanor. He barks often, especially when there are treats to be had!!! He's very passionate about his treats. Brenner is usually one of the first to greet our staff. He lets everyone else know we've arrived.

We think he's a good boy and we're happy to have him here with us at Spirit Animal Sanctuary. He loves being outside, no matter the weather, so we are really happy about the donated jacket that we got for Brenner! He doesn't think he needs it but it definitely made us feel better, especially when it got so cold this winter.

Spirit Animal Sanctuary is a place where dogs that are unable to find a forever home live out their lives surrounded by comfort and all the care they require and desire. Sometimes the animals are sent here by their owners, sometimes we rescue them from euthanasia, and some are brought here as unwanted or abandoned animals that just don't adjust well with the human world. Spirit Animal Sanctuary survives solely on donations and public funding to carry out their mission of providing a safe environment for these animals.

As we continue renovating and rebuilding, there are a lot of things our human staff will need to continue providing the best care possible to the animals. If you see something on this list you would be willing to donate, we would love to talk about it!! We are going to start with replacing the building in the Spring, now we need to fix up the one we have the dogs in now, which is serving double duty as the office.

Large utility sink
Flooring for the office and bathroom
Paint and paint supplies
Washer and Dryer
Metal Storage cabinets for supplies and medicine
Building materials and tools
Kitchen-cabinets, sink (deep utility sink?), countertop

Strong and/or experienced people to help with drywall, flooring, and other renovations.

For the dogs-we could use some doggie beds/raised beds for the dogs that lost theirs in the fire.

This is Tofu.

Tofu is one of the dogs who lost his home building in the fire. He is a senior dog, and one of our oldest residents. He is in this picture laying on a sheet that was donated by Lodging Kit. (THANK YOU)

Tofu can't move around too much anymore in the winter months, and he actually had to be carried out of the building by our staff member Brian as it burned down. Tofu has random bouts of barking, and it makes us think of an old guy yelling "Get off my lawn!"

We are THRILLED at the success that our friends at Cryptic Ink had as the Coordinators of our first Donation Drive.

These ladies arranged pickup locations all over town in addition to their own fundraising campaign “tats for tails.” They raised $1,675 with those tattoos and donated it all to Spirit Animal Sanctuary. Our staff picked up the donations today.

This generosity is very much appreciated and we are so grateful for the donations.

Not only did we lose a building in the fire, which was home to many dogs, we also lost our well access and some of our communication tools.

Ben Stocklosa came to our rescue (pun intended) The cost to do the repair was around $500. Every day there’s something that needs fixing, upgrading, replacing. We have so much work to do, and we can’t do this without you.

While we are happy that the dogs displaced from the fire are cohabitating successfully with the group they were merged with, we need your help to create some separate runs, and soon fund a replacement building.
