Edall has been in training with us for the past two months and we are so impressed with his development.

His good manners and sweet disposition make him a please to work with. He always looks to the rider to guild him to where he needs to go, staying light and responsive. Already giving us all four gaits I always look forward to our sessions together!

Edall would be best suited for an intermediate rider, but with more experience we believe he has the potential to become a great beginners horse!

Last Saturday we hosted a fun day full of drill team and horses for our students! Though it was a windy day, we still enjoyed ourselves immensely. So proud of how all the riders and horses worked together to perfect each drill. It was so much fun and we are excited to continue this throughout the rest of the year!

Last Saturday was the Sirius Club Fun Show at . We had a very fun and educational experience. What a great way for our club to all come together. We have lots to work on for our last upcoming show this fall and we will definitely be back again. Thank you to everyone who helped to this event together! We wanted to wish our intern Lucas a Happy birthday. From waking up at early hours to get all the chores done before anyone else is awake, to training late into the night. Lucas is extremely talented and a hard working young man, one our farm can’t live without. Many people who frequent our barn know Lucas as a very kind and hard working kid, his love for horses showing with every ride. We appreciate you Lucas and love watching you grow in your horsemanship everyday!

Last weekend was the Gamankeppni Show Hosted by Locust Hill and organized by .
Shows no matter the location or time of year are always stressful for both horse and rider, made this show as fun and comfortable for us riders and horses alike. We had a lot of first timers this time around and they all settled in as if they were back at home! And for that we want to thank the whole crew for making that possible! This was one of the most educational competitions we have been to and are excited for the next one this Fall!

After a long week presenting the Icelandic horse, we are all home safe and sound. It was so much fun talking and meeting new people who are interested in this amazing breed. So proud of our amazing team, even with some very sudden unexpected changes they pulled through and gave a strong and phenomenal performance! A huge thank you to the Sirius Icelandic Horse Club for representing the Icelandic Horse with us and spreading more about this AWESOME breed! Thank you to Sherry Hoover and Taktur Icelandic Horses, LLC for your guidance and Mentoring through this whole process. And a special thank you to Sherry Hoover for keeping all of us fed the whole week!😉

Now that you all know we will be participating in Ohio Equine Affaire. Let’s start introducing our demo team and rider/horse combinations.
First we have . Mouse has been since a very young age involved with Icelandic’s and our Community from the very start. Working under and with , and just to name a few. Her incredible feel and natural ability to adapt to any horse makes her an incredible Horse woman.
Mouse is currently studying Animal Science at the University of Vermont. With future plans to continue her passion with horses as an Icelandic Horse trainer.
Mouse will be riding the amazing and talented stallion Smari frà tjarnarlandi kindly lent to us by & .

Team Thorlak will be heading to Columbus Ohio tomorrow to take part in the Ohio Equine Affaire where they will be presenting the Icelandic Horses as well as hold demonstrations.
We will be there April 6th-9th. Our demos will be on Friday the 8th.

A little late but we wanted to wait for all our prizes to come in the mail!🤣 First up is Marcelino & Konrad, riding in the Youth division their theme was Puff the Magic Dragon. They placed 3rd and won a beautiful (Icelandic) blanket from . I think it suits this little Shetland pony well. Laura, Gloria & Service dog Major, rode in the new Para division their theme Ninjas! All three placed 2nd and won a brand new halter and a beautiful Calendar from Lastly Kentigern & Maria, Hrokki & Orða all competed in the teams division. Their theme “Medieval Dance”. Together they all placed 3rd and were reserved harmony champions. They won soaps and conditioners from .
