Hey friends! We have a big group of dogs coming, so we are looking outward to see if there are any people out there who might be interested in fostering! We are always in need of fosters who are loving and open to helping our dogs feel safe in Maine! The role of foster is so important, as it gives us inside information on our dogs, that we can give adopters, so the best matches can be made! All you need(food, bowls, collar, leashes, crates, etc) are all covered by the sanctuary with no additional financial strain on you! All you supply is your time and love!
These are dogs that are arriving in Maine and who need fosters(and adopters)so if you are interested both the foster application and adoption application is below!
Please message us if you have questions, we are more than happy to answer any questions you may have!

This ADORABLE girl is fabulous with cats(her tail goes crazy, while wagging at them)awesome with other dogs, and soaks up the love from kids! Per GP personality, she likes to play, but when she’s tired, she’s tired, and you need to let her sleep, cause she’s going to go into limp noodle mode🤣

Lil Cricket has arrived in Maine and is warming all our hearts with his adorable puppy antics! He says life is good❤️He’s great around other dogs, and fine with kitties, and LOVES people!
This guy is ready to be pampered, and spoiled for every day for the rest of his life, so if you’d like to meet this small precious little puppy, get your applications in, NOW!

Update: BLUE IS ADOPTED!🥰🥳

Seriously people!?!? Blue is the BEST boy that ever was. Not only is he friggin HANDSOME but he checks all of the boxes.

LOVES KIDS!! Great with cats and other dogs! You wanna snuggle on the couch for the day? HE DOES TOO! You wanna go for a walk down to the cafe? BLUE WANTS TO GO WITH YOU. House trained - duh!! So easy to walk on a leash the 5yr old can do it, heck - HE DOESN'T EVEN NEED A LEASH!!

What is happening here? Why is everyone passing on Blue? Listen, I know hes 9yrs old - don't let that scare you away! This guy knows tricks, he plays ball, loves going for walks and is great for car rides.

There is NO REASON that Blue has been waiting for over 6 WEEKS and hasn't gotten even 1 application 😭

Today is a great great day! Not only did Zelda’s Bailey chair get completed, and arrive at the sanctuary for Zelda, she finally ate in it for the first time! AND, today she got the all clear to officially go to a foster home! She has been at the sanctuary since arrival a week ago, and in a week, she has gained 3lbs!! Onwards and upwards from here, Little Z🥰

*Peter is not up for adoption as of now*When Peter ended up at the Texas shelter where his life could have ended, I think most people would have given up, but that’s not what happens here at The Minnis Sanctuary, we see animals hit with the worst and bring them back to a full life(if we can)the point being, we give them a chance. Peter arrived at intake in Texas emaciated at 31 lbs, with a completely broken pelvis, a broken tibia, 2 broken toes, and was heartworm positive but he did not have a broken spirit! He made his way to Maine, into Carly’s arms, and began his long journey of becoming the healthy boy he could be. Today he weighs in at 48 lbs! He is goofy, snuggly, and continues to have the unbroken spirit that keeps him going! He’s walking, and even playing with other dogs, and unless you were told about his broken pelvis, you wouldn’t know it. Like one of our volunteers says”love, kindness, and food does wonders”. This is rescue, it’s hard to see the condition they arrive in, but when they leave for their forever homes, they shine❤️

Update: VINNY IS ADOPTED!

Angel of a dog, Vinny aka Vincent, is still waiting for his family to find him. Vinny is 3 years old, fabulous and very patient with kids, good with cats, and dogs, and he’s just an absolute peach❤️He is a quiet guy who likes to spend his time curled up on the couch, or sprawled on his cozy bed in the crate. He’s easy peasy with going out and spending time at a brewery, or sitting on the couch watching the Bob Ross channel(fyi, Vinny actually loves Bob Ross and watched the tv when it’s on!). He’s hoping a quiet home will see him and want to meet him and say yesss that’s my boy! Is that you? If so, please send in an application!⬇️
