Meet the forever named”the biggest love bug”, Dazzle!
This 3 year old tripod beauty, charmed her Texas foster family, and has now totally charmed her Maine foster! This lil sprite lovessss kids, she is doing well in foster with other dogs as long as you take introductions SLOW and be patient, and she doesn’t mind cats in the slightest. While she’s 100% crate trained, her fosters family doesn’t need to use it, because she’s entirely trustworthy! At a dainty 30 lbs, she is easy peasy to walk on leash! She really really loves people, and would love to be able to be with her family more often than not, so she can give them snuggles and kisses whenever she wants😍
She’s ready to make you laugh with her post p**p zoomie/dance, adorable stretches and poses while napping on the couch, and to show you that while she’s may be a tripod, life doesn’t slow her down in the slightest! If you would like to meet this sweetie pie, please send in an application!

Hi friends,Lettie here! Wow, is it getting cold and I am looking for a warm place to call my home. I’ve spent my days in the heat of Houston and Maine is a whole new adventure for me. I love to spend my days taking naps, playing with doggie friends, and snuggling up to my humans. My current human says all the time how cute and sweet I am, not to brag 😊. I am fond of cats and kids as well. I am looking for a place where I can spend my days with people who adore me as much as I adore toys and treats. Take a chance on your southern girl, you won’t regret it. Love, Lettie

If you would like to meet this darling girl, who has such a big heart, please send in an application!

Meet two of our newest medical need dogs, King and Banks❤️both of these incredible dogs were moments(and we mean moments) away from being euthanized because their care was more than the shelter could provide(please no negative comments on shelters).
King (grey and white cutie patootie), has a wide and long cut along his neck, due to an imbedded collar, and angular limb deformity in his front legs. He also is incredibly special! Despite life being cruel, this adorable sweet boy wiggles at everyone who will smile at him.

Banks(golden Dobby eared lovebug), has a fractured tibia which will either require a splint or surgery, and is struggling with bearing weight in that leg. This sweetheart, and his big loving eyes, weren’t ready to leave this world and inspired many people trying to fight for his life(so many people fought for King too)we saw him and knew we had to give him a shot!

Both these stunning boys(and many more cases that are incoming) put a strain on our sanctuary, but we do it anyways, because we know they deserve a chance to get their happy beginnings with a forever family. PLEASE help us by donating to our medical fundraiser, whether it’s five dollars or $500❤️

Our sweet Zelda 💙

Zelda came to us through another rescue who was not prepared to deal with her many medical issues she was born with. As a licensed veterinary technician who crazily decided to open my own rescue, this is common. We take on medical cases because I know the ins and outs of how to handle them. Zelda was diagnosed with megaesophogus and had aspiration pneumonia when we got her. She also had some neurologic deficits that we were learning how to manage. On top of that she had carpal hyperextension which made her flat footed on her front legs and a similar condition in the back. Despite all these things she was so happy and loving. She explored the world and loved her foster family so much. She had a custom Bailey chair made for her so she could eat sitting up and ensure her food went into her belly where it belonged. It was graciously donated to her and she was learning how to get into it all by herself!

A few weeks ago Zelda went in for her spay and gastropexy procedure so she could be ready for her forever home to find her. Aspiration Pneumonia is a common complication with dogs who have megaesophoghus, especially when they are going under anesthesia. Its best to do everything possible to prevent this, which we did. She developed aspiration pneumonia anyway and was put on 2 different antibiotics which she sadly did not respond to.

Sadly Zelda passed away in my arms taking her to the emergency hospital last Thursday for oxygen support. Our hearts are crushed and she has left a huge void behind. We want to send a special thank you to her fosters who loved her despite how frustrating I KNOW a neurologic german shepherd puppy can be.

We are so grateful to you, Alicia and Zachary 🙏💛

I know we all call dogs goobers, but introducing a dog who’s name is actually Goober🤣
Goober is a normal curious puppy. HE IS ALWAYS HAPPY TO SEE YOU. Medium energy. Still working on potty training. Likes to play with toys, absolutely loves people - will even stop playing with other dogs to come get some pets. Will bark/excited in kennel when he sees you, he is a big boy so his barks are loud. Excellent car rider, he has been hopping into and out of the truck all by himself once Johnny showed him that its not too hard or scary. He does counter surf but not as much now that there's not much to counter surf for. He does give hugs, but even though he's a big boy, he is pretty gentle about it. When he's excited, he will chase the cats but he's a puppy and easy to correct. Walks pretty well on the leash. Will absolutely need a slow feeding bowl until further notice - maybe he will slow down once he knows he has food security or puts on some much needed weight. For sure a goofy goober & big couch guy❤️Come meet this adorable buddy, and send in an application today!

Derek is PENDING adoption! Paws crossed!

The very softest puppy, Derek aka DerBear, is looking for his forever home! This snuggly, and playful 8 month old, Great Pyrenees puppy is true to the GP character of making everyone around them, fall in love with them! He is also true GP, needing a fenced in yard, and making sure that fence is secure so he doesn’t make his own boundaries! This jaunty boy, is having a blast with his foster siblings, and being in daycare all day, racing around and being a goober! He is extremely loyal and is ready to protect you and your yard from dangers such as, a floating leaf, or owl flying overhead🤣anything to keep you safe, and is not afraid to use his newfound voice to do so! Found as a stray, he is still learning about potty training, but he’s doing awesome! He is learning the wonders of the world and needs someone who is patient and who is ready for ALL characteristics of the Great Pyrenees breed. Not everyone is ready for a stubborn dog, and it’s easy to forget that GP’s were bred to think for themselves. He is very food motivated which will be a huge benefit with training!
If you are looking to find a new best friend, and you have read this whole post, please send in an application!
