I know we all call dogs goobers, but introducing a dog who’s name is actually Goober🤣
Goober is a normal curious puppy. HE IS ALWAYS HAPPY TO SEE YOU. Medium energy. Still working on potty training. Likes to play with toys, absolutely loves people - will even stop playing with other dogs to come get some pets. Will bark/excited in kennel when he sees you, he is a big boy so his barks are loud. Excellent car rider, he has been hopping into and out of the truck all by himself once Johnny showed him that its not too hard or scary. He does counter surf but not as much now that there's not much to counter surf for. He does give hugs, but even though he's a big boy, he is pretty gentle about it. When he's excited, he will chase the cats but he's a puppy and easy to correct. Walks pretty well on the leash. Will absolutely need a slow feeding bowl until further notice - maybe he will slow down once he knows he has food security or puts on some much needed weight. The very softest puppy, Derek aka DerBear, is looking for his forever home! This snuggly, and playful 8 month old, Great Pyrenees puppy is true to the GP character of making everyone around them, fall in love with them! He is also true GP, needing a fenced in yard, and making sure that fence is secure so he doesn’t make his own boundaries! This jaunty boy, is having a blast with his foster siblings, and being in daycare all day, racing around and being a goober! He is extremely loyal and is ready to protect you and your yard from dangers such as, a floating leaf, or owl flying overhead🤣anything to keep you safe, and is not afraid to use his newfound voice to do so! Found as a stray, he is still learning about potty training, but he’s doing awesome! He is learning the wonders of the world and needs someone who is patient and who is ready for ALL characteristics of the Great Pyrenees breed. Not everyone is ready for a stubborn dog, and it’s easy to forget that GP’s were bred to think for themselves. He is very food motivated which will be a huge benefit with training!

Meet the forever named”the biggest love bug”, Dazzle!
This 3 year old tripod beauty, charmed her Texas foster family, and has now totally charmed her Maine foster! This lil sprite lovessss kids, she is doing well in foster with other dogs as long as you take introductions SLOW and be patient(but may be happiest as a solo dog, so she can get ALL the attention) and she doesn’t mind cats in the slightest. While she’s 100% crate trained, her fosters family doesn’t need to use it, because she’s entirely trustworthy! At a dainty 30 lbs, she is easy peasy to walk on leash! She really really loves people, and would love to be able to be with her family more often than not, so she can give them snuggles and kisses whenever she wants😍
She’s ready to make you laugh with her post p**p zoomie/dance, adorable stretches and poses while napping on the couch, and to show you that while she’s may be a tripod, life doesn’t slow her down in the slightest! If you would like to meet this sweetie pie, please send in an application!

Meet our glorious Gracie girl!
This 10 year old senior is a prime example of how perfect senior dogs are to adopt! She’s truly lovely, having lived a full life, and is ready for a quiet retirement, hopefully full of love!
Gracie is crate trained(though she doesn’t need it). She’s leash trained, and while she’s a bigger girl, doesn’t pull you over. She is good with all animals, and kids, and accepts all interactions with lovely quiet energy.

We have a wild announcement! This week, we welcomed a new forever resident of The Minnis Sanctuary!!
Please welcome, our new youngling Berkshire pig, Alphie!!
This absurdly adorable, sweetie pie was given away as a “prize” as a tiny lil piglet at the Fryburg Fair this summer, and his new family realized that as he got bigger(and a solo pig) that he needed a new life. So two of our volunteers drove to pick him up(in their Prius) and brought him to his new forever home! After his quarantine period was up, he officially joined his new family in the barn! He joins our two pigs, Easy and Todd, and all the goaties! Just see how excited he is❤️Now he never has to fear for being looked at as JUST food(and not a sentient and loving being), and he will lounge with his big brothers, chase around his silly goat siblings, and charm every person that comes to meet him!

It’s also big news that our silly girl, Zelda is now ready for adoption! Since September 8th, Z girl has been working so hard with Carly’s family, and then with her foster family, to continue growing big and strong to get to a place of adoption, and it’s finally here!
She does however have some lifelong needs that have to be met in her forever home.
Zelda has megaesophagus, which means she will need a custom made chair that she eats in, EVERY meal. Otherwise her body cannot retain it, and she gets sick. That is 100% necessary and required for the rest of her life. She also has carpal hyper extension in both front legs, and while it doesn’t bother her, you’ll need to be careful.
This sweet girl, is independent, but extremely loyal, and the happiest sassy girl around. You’ll find her sleeping, or living and loving her life to the fullest, whether that’s chewing on toys, chasing leaves around the yard, playing with other dogs, or staring at you, waiting for her next adventure.
She’s good with cats, but if she went to a home with cats, they would certainly have to be dog savvy, and be ready for chaotic puppy energy.
Zelda needs to go to a family with not small children, as she does have a tendency to get a little nippy at things directly in front of her. It is definitely not malicious, it just seems to be an automatic reaction she has.
She does display all your typical German Shepherd behaviors(which is why we’re looking for an adopter who is familiar).
She’s crate trained, and doing amazing with potty training, and will get there, as long as you stay the course and continue to be vigilant about potty training.
She’s ready to entertain you with her hilarious water bowl antics, where she doesn’t typically like to drink the water she more likes to try to eat the water, and give everyone a shower around her, while playing in the water that falls to the ground. She’s a clumsy goofball, with a heart of gold, a bountiful spirit, always cheerful, despite the hand life has dealt her.

Guess what? It’s officially time to share that our ultimate goober, Peter is finally available for adoption!! You may remember him from way back, but he is healthy, spunky, and ready to find his forever home!
Peter is great with dogs, cats, and kids!
He is working on house training and doing excellent!!
This limp noodle is happy to have you hold him baby style in your arms, or turn himself into a pretzel on the couch🤣his Dobby ears and sweet face, could make anyone go awwwww! This guy is never-endingly loyal, and he will protect your yard seemingly tough until you baby talk him, and then he melts all over you! He’s an absolute peach, and would make anyone happy! Brodie has entered Maine with a bang! He says I’m here, I’m fabulous, you are going to fall in love with me!
This handsome boy radiates energy and personality.
He is food and toy motivated which makes for a great training partner, especially because he’s clearly very smart.
This young fellow does have a lot of energy to expel, so if you are a runner, or enjoy long walks, hikes or exploring this beautiful world, Brodie is your guy! Energy or not, he’s extremely loving, and he leans into you for love, and loves giving kisses.

Meet the 6 year old beauty, Lettie!
This sweet brown and white Kelpie mix has spent a lot of time healing from heartworm, and dermatitis, and will be making her way to Maine with arrival the weekend of the 15th!
Lettie is good with dogs and cats, and will be kid tested upon arrival!
She is splendid for bath time, and has grown accustomed to receiving sardines while she gets bathed as treats🤣
