Open the door
I love that ⭐️Milton's⭐️ humans continue to come up with new skills for us to work on
It keeps his mind sharp, adds enrichment, and in some cases, serves a practical purpose!
Here, he is demonstrating our most recent skill, where I taught him to open the patio door

Charging Dogs
Why do dogs develop reactivity?
There are a number of reasons, and this video highlights one of them...
💥CHARGING DOGS💥
The dog in this video was repeatedly charging up to it's underground fence perimeter as we walked by, and if you've experienced this behavior when out on a walk before, you know that this is a mild example of it.
Repeatedly exposing your dog to this type of scenario without having solid skills and smart handling strategies means your dog is likely to take matters into their own paws by dishing out threatening behaviors of their own... barking, lunging, and growling... and voilà... you've got yourself a reactive dog!
If you want your dog to stay cool as a cucumber like Milton does in this video, let's talk.
💜Maverick💜 is about 8 weeks old and began his ⭐️Ultimate Puppy Program⭐️ today
He's got a full calendar with me each week for the next two months...
✅️Mondays- Solo session with me at his home to work on essential skills and home manners
✅️Tuesdays- Field trip session to a local public space to work on habituation to the world and public manners
✅️Wednesdays- Family session at his home to work with him AND his humans on his skills and to provide weekend homework
✅️Thursdays- Field trip session to his Mom's salon to work on habituation to that space and neutrality towards clientele
This boy has a big, fun life ahead of him and we are ready to set him up for success!
We have and additional opening for another puppy in this program, ask us if it's a good fit!
Would you believe I'm currently working with 5️⃣ separate cases involving dogs showing reactivity and/or aggressive behaviors towards people entering the home?! And was just contacted in regard to a sixth!
It's a common problem that often goes unaddressed... until the dog snaps or bites.
If this is something you struggle with, we can help! If you're willing to put in the work 😉
Have a reactive dog that makes car riding dangerous and chaotic?
If you can't crate them to cut down on their ability to see and react to triggers here's what we do!
We use a seat belt tether on a harness and teach a ⭐️down with duration⭐️
Check out our demo with Pearl!
While this may not completely eliminate your dog's ability to see triggers, the reduction of visibility can make a huge difference, and it definitely worked wonders for Pearl
While Pearl can ride in the car without issue these days, she will still offer the behavior if ever needed
💜Need this for your dog? Let us know!💜
Requesting overnight services with us just got easier!
We accept requests for services up to 3 months in advance, which means you can request a reservation for your summer travel now!
This dog has serious brains 😱
Thanks to his ⭐️longterm training program⭐️ with me he can pick up on new behaviors extremely fast!
His owner requested that I start teaching him to find objects. I began with a toy which he already knows by name, "snake", and within 10 minutes he was finding it without guidance and returning it to me.
Next, I'll be introducing new things for him to find
This is an ideal brain game to teach for bad weather days, so those of you with working breeds, take note 🤣
I'm back from a short vacation where I got to cross the San Diego Zoo off my personal bucket list
⭐️Force free training⭐️ works across all species, even when there are some extra safety precautions needed 😂
In this video you'll see part of a training session with a bull African elephant where they are working on 💜cooperative care💜 (teaching the animal to voluntarily participate in husbandry procedures), which we also teach our students!
Some things to look for in the video...
✅️Target stick- sometimes used as a visual/tactile cue for the elephant
✅️Hand target- used in the beginning to keep the elephant stationary as the door closes
✅️Hand signals- one appears to be used to cue a behavior and the other appears to be a cue to keep doing a behavior, can you tell which is which?
✅️Marker (secondary reinforcer)- their whistle marks the completion of the desired behavior for the elephant and means food is about to be given
This session went on for about 5 more minutes, and it appeared that they were focusing on building duration onto the "leaning" behavior with the elephant
💜All this being said, I am working on returning emails, messages, and phone calls, thank you all for your patience💜
Toxic Relationship With Your Dog?
If there was one thing we could get more new dog owners to do, it would be to start training sooner! Our ⭐in-your-home⭐ programs allow us to begin working with you and your dog from Day ONE, meaning we can address small issues before they grow into 🔥BIG🔥 problems.

Just brought home 💜5 foster puppies💜 from BGWCHS
Without mom they may not be getting the ideal start, but we'll make the best of it!
They will not be available for awhile, but if you're ⭐️patient⭐️ and interested in adopting, reach out to the Bowling Green/Warren County Humane Society
⭐️Maggie⭐️ just started her VIP program and we're kicking it off with something cool
One of her humans can't hear super well so if they're in another area of the home they may not hear her use her potty bells to ask to go outside!
So we are teaching her to 💜touch💜 her human's leg to ask to go outside
In this video we are in a transitional period where I...
✅️Fade out the blue target
✅️Introduce going out the door in response to the touch right at the end of the video
I currently want to get lots of repetitive touches so I have reinforced it with food to keep her motivation up, but we will be fading out food and switching over to just reinforcing with access to outside in response to successful touches
Pretty neat huh?
What if I told you we had a program ⭐️exclusively for puppies⭐️ that will...

There's a misconception that dog-dog socialization is JUST dogs playing together.
When I still worked in the boarding/daycare industry, one of the most common questions dog owners would ask when they'd pick up their dogs would be...
"Did they play with the other dogs?"
And sometimes my answer was, "Oh yeah!"
And sometimes my answer was, "They enjoyed socializing, but I wouldn't say they played."
Owners didn't typically know how to process the latter response, because for them, socializing and playing are one in the same...
But this isn't accurate at all!
Dogs that possess healthy dog-dog social skills will engage in a variety of activities together, and play can be just ONE of those activities.
In this video, my two dogs and my friend's dog are socializing through co-sniffing, moving through a space with one another, sniffing and marking.
This is a beautiful example of dog-dog socialization that isn't play.
