Discomfort in the mouth can lead to poor weight gain, decreased performance and bad behavior even when not bridled. Depending on the age of your horse and oral exam findings, a dental procedure may be recommended once to twice a year.

We will have dates available with a local Equine Dental Technician that we are working with.

Our vehicle is fully equipped, in fact it’s like a small hospital “on wheels.” We will have most of the same capabilities as a regular hospital. We have a refrigerator for our vaccines and items that must be kept cold. We have a pharmacy and stock a select supply of our preferred heartworm and flea & tick products. We can take digital x-rays, perform ultrasounds and have anesthesia for surgical and dental procedures.

Also reminder we will be at Dirty Dawgz this Friday from 9am - 12pm for our low cost vaccine clinic.

The Tennessee State Veterinarian confirmed a positive case of rabies in a horse in Middle Tennessee. Dr Hollis wants to take this opportunity to remind everyone about the importance of annual vaccines for you horse.

Rabies can “look like anything,” with early signs ranging from colic to lameness to depression to agitation. There is no treatment or ante-mortem (prior to death) test, and once a horse shows signs of rabies it invariably dies within a few days.

•Wellness exams are also called a "Check-up or a physical examination"
•The focus of a wellness exam is to make sure your pet is as healthy as possible.
•They include a thorough history as to how the pet is doing at home on a day to day basis, a thorough physical exam, and discussion to help further assess your pet’s health.
•How often your pet is seen depends on your pet: Puppies/Kittens are seen monthly the first few months of their lives, healthy pets are seen once a year, and senior/sick pets may need to been seen a couple times a year.
