bedience, day trains, board and trains, behavior modification, aggressive dog training, swim lessons, all on a one-on-one basis—all aimed at giving you and your dog the highest levels of fun and control, even around severe distractions. It’s hard to forge a deep friendship with your dog when he’s chewing up your furniture, soiling your carpets, jumping uncontrollably, or nipping at your friends and kids! Our training methodology puts you in charge so you can move beyond bad behavior and begin to more thoroughly enjoy your relationship with your dog. We don’t believe in yelling and giving corrections. Sit Means Sit focuses on results-based dog training to provide you with a well-mannered and happy dog. We utilize today’s technology to achieve positive and lasting results. Upon evaluating your dog, we provide an obedience training program that encompasses behavioral problems as well as training the dog to focus on you. Focus is truly the key to our program. A dog that focuses on you will not only obey your commands more readily, but will be less likely to get into mischief. We do not just train the dog; we educate you on how to guide the dog through the problems of daily life. Like our motto says: We train for the real world. Dog training for the real world, specializing in off leash control. We offer puppy management, AKC STAR puppy program, basic and advanced obedience training with private lessons, day trains or board & trains, prep for therapy dog testing , CGC prep and testing. It's Therapy Dog Appreciation Week 2024! 🎉

Welcome everyone, to this incredible week, created to honor and celebrate the amazing work done by Hero Therapy Teams! Join us each day as we explore the work that Therapy Dogs do, learn about the incredibly diverse ways that they help people, and help spread the message while highlighting local heroes in your own community.

The Why - The International Association of Canine Professionals created Therapy Dog Appreciation Week when we saw the need to educate about what makes these dogs (and their people) so special. There is just way too much to cover to limit it to just one day! TDAW begins the last Sunday of every August, to include August 31 each year. These dates were chosen to honor a Therapy Committee Member's mother, Diana Meyer, by encompassing her birthday. In her final years, as Diana suffered with Parkinson's Disease, some of the only genuine smiles that graced her face were in the presence of dogs. Certainly, they were a bright point when hospitalized or healing in rehab facilities.

Here's how you can celebrate with the IACP:
- drop a picture of your therapy dog below!
- share, along with your favorite story related to therapy dogs
- if you are a trainer, brag on your clients or your program. Share and encourage them to brag on themselves!
- tag a friend or share on their timeline!

Let's build this! Tomorrow we will share about how TDAW has grown over this past year, and what you can look forward to in years to come! If you love dogs, and you believe in their positive effect on the human brain, LET'S BUILD THIS TOGETHER!
