As I’m coming into the 10th year as a veterinarian I’ve learned that giving back to yourself is just as important as giving your all to your profession!

I’ve had to learn this, and balancing my bodybuilding life with being a mom, a speaker and veterinarian!! I’ve finally unlocked the ultimate cheat code to PEACE and happiness!! BE YOURSELF- DO what you love, do all the things! It’s possible!!

This was quick and busy! But it reignited my connection again to my veterinary community!

This year marks 10 years I will have graduated from - and in this time I have learned so much! I’ve grown so much as a veterinary professional, I’ve given so much to my veterinary community, and the biggest thing is that I’ve given back to myself!
💜
I know I’ve been a bit more quiet than usual because life has created numerous challenges and road blocks that I’ve had to navigate through the last few years!
💜
But I’ve adopted the word PIVOT - pivoting for my mental health, pivoting for my family, pivoting to survive, and pivoting for my businesses survival!
💜
A lot of people see the pictures, and videos looking from the outside looking in; but most don’t see the struggles of being a black woman owned business in the world we currently live in!
💜
I’ve learned to control the controllables, teach where I can teach, and continue to give back where I can!
💜
If you are struggling with the next move, or how to navigate life - DONT give up! Keep being a light, keep being a testimony, and keep being a role model for those coming after you!
💜
We can have it all, we can live the lives we want to live and be happy! It is 100% possible to do it all!!

Today, on Veterans Day, we honor and salute all those who have served and sacrificed for our country. 🇺🇸 We owe a profound gratitude to the veterans in our lives who dedicated themselves to protecting our freedoms. We are especially grateful for Dr. Donita’s father and grandfather, whose commitment and service have inspired so much of what we do here at Veterinary Concierge Services. ❤️

Fun fact ☝️🤓: Dr. Donita was nearly born in Germany during her father’s military service abroad, but she arrived in Fort Bragg, North Carolina instead! Known as the home of the Airborne and Special Operations Forces, Fort Bragg is one of the largest military installations in the world, housing dedicated servicemen and women and their families who have been part of America’s military legacy. 🌍💪

Today, we thank all veterans and their families for their unwavering dedication and bravery. Your service means the world to us. 🇺🇸
