When I’m not working, you’ll find me hanging out by the ocean, sailing, walking my beloved standard poodle, planning date nights with my husband, spending far too much time on Pinterest, watching cheesy shows on Netflix, and connecting with my best friends. I have my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Connecticut with a concentration in photography. In addition to owning my own ph

Today is a BIG day for Chaylea Finn! Today, she receives her doctorate in physical therapy! It has taken SEVEN years of studying, testing, and clinicals. So much hard work and determination and the day is FINALLY here! Join me in congratulating Dr. Finn!

For the past few weeks, I'd bet many of you have received countless emails and scrolled past so many posts about finding the "PERFECT" gift for the Moms in your life. My favorite restaurants have guaranteed that my Mom would love brunch and bottomless mimosas. Clothing stores have been emailing me all week with sales that, "Mom is sure to love." Hey, I've even posted about it too!

Truthfully, brunch isn't about the mimosas or the eggs benny...it's about the laughs and the memories and the time spent together. Gifts like clothing probably aren't about the clothes as much as they're about being seen and heard and known...and having your kids dote on you for once.

Professional photography shouldn't be about faking a smile so that you can send out pretty Christmas cards or so that you can hang a stale photo on the wall for the next 20 years. It shouldn't feel forced. For me, it's about documenting the connection between people and showing their love for one another. And that's something that I love doing for Moms of all sorts. The Mom who fills in when there's no one else. The Mom who has endured and persisted through challenges that no one else understands. The Mom who loves and advocates for her kids each and every day. The Mom who answers the phone and chats every time her 30 year old calls for advice or just to talk.

So give her that quality time, appreciation, and encouragement she deserves. And, yes, if you so choose...give her photos.

Today, my Mom asked me what my plans are for Mother's Day. In that moment, I quickly realized...oh no, it's one week until Mother's Day!

Happy first day of Spring! My husband and I have been getting so excited for warmer weather, dinners on the deck, and walks with the pup. Personally, I'm excited to get back to photos with lush green grass, beautiful blooms, and golden hour (without shivering and running for the warmth of the car)! Rebekah Chamberlain Photography is back in action and booking shoots! I never took an official hiatus, but there was a pandemic...so...I'm pretty sure we all went on an unofficial hiatus, right?

Although my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed celebrating our first Valentine's Day as husband and wife, I have to acknowledge our ever present third wheel...who also has all of our love this day and every day. Each night, Ryan says to me, "Night love." Then, for Shea, he crawls out of bed, lies next to her on the floor, and says in the sweetest voice, "Goooooodniiiight, Shea! We love you so much. You're such a good girl." This is followed by several smooches and lots of pats on the head. I can't say I blame him. She's pretty cute, huh?
