Training Tip: Focus on rewarding the good behaviors! It’s easy to get caught up saying “no” when your dog misbehaves, but remember to catch them being good. If your pup sits quietly or greets someone without jumping, praise and treat that moment! Dogs repeat behaviors that earn them rewards – it’s canine Psychology 101. Positive reinforcement (think treats, toys, and happy praise) is the heart of our approach. Not only does it teach your dog what to do, it also builds trust. A dog that trusts you is more willing to listen during the chaotic moments. So next time your dog does something right, even by accident, reward it! You’ll both feel good. 🎁🐕

Please give a warm welcome to Cissi, a spunky 6-year-old mixed breed, who's joining the Practically Positive Dog Training pack for some weekly walks! We're thrilled to be a part of her weight loss journey and help her reach peak fitness (and maybe sniff out a few extra treats along the way ). Please give a warm welcome to Murphy, our newest addition to the Practically Positive Dog Training pack! Murphy is a spunky 7-month-old Livestock Guardian Mix who will be joining us for the next 7 weeks.

Murphy's here to work on some leash manners (who doesn't love a good walk, but not when you're the one being walked!), basic obedience, and building his confidence around new experiences. This includes getting used to things like playful babies and exciting new environments. We're confident that with some positive reinforcement training and lots of love, Murphy will be a well-rounded pup in no time!
