Giving Tuesday is almost here! This year on December 3rd, we’re celebrating 365 days of hope for every pet that comes through our doors—pets like Tilly. 🐾❤️

When Tilly was found wrapped in a towel by an animal control officer in July, she was brought to APA Olivette, where her recovery journey began.

At just 32 pounds, Tilly was the most underweight patient our veterinary team had ever seen. Severely anemic and in desperate need of immediate care, she was rushed to VSS for a life-saving blood transfusion and began a carefully monitored refeeding plan to safely regain weight.

Through weekly bloodwork rechecks, vitamin B12 injections, and the unwavering care of our APA Vet team and a devoted foster family, Tilly’s recovery was nothing short of miraculous. Thanks to the generosity of our community, she received the vital care she needed and, on October 30th, finally found a loving home.

🎉 Big news: Haddie has found a loving home! 🐾💖

After patiently waiting since August, this sweet girl has finally met her perfect match.

Thank you to her adopters for opening their hearts to Haddie and to everyone who supported her journey, including her foster family, APA staff, and volunteers. And, of course, a giant thank you to Purina for helping us care for long-term residents like Haddie.

Here’s to many happy adventures ahead, Haddie! 🐕✨

Great news! Nala, the serval who was recently cared for by the APA, was transferred to Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge.

At this GFAS-accredited sanctuary, Nala will be able to live out the remainder of her life with the dignity and care she deserves. We would like to thank Turpentine for making space for Nala, and for all they do to care for big cats.

We also want to, again, thank our community and animal welfare partners for all their support. When the servals came into our care, you stepped up to help, shared resources, and advocated for Nala to receive the best care possible. As always, we are so grateful for this community.

"He plays nicely with our doodle, and they enjoy their daily walks together. He hasn't barked at all. Not once. There are no accidents in the house, either, and he knows to go to our back door when we say, "Let's go potty." He's also learning to 'off' and 'leave it.' All in all, he's a first-class little pup."

We are so excited to announce 2025's Hike With a Hound dates! ⛰️

What is Hike with a Hound? ➡️ During the week, at lunchtime, we take several shelter pups out to local hiking spots. We bring water, p**p bags, and treats for you. All you need to do is show up!

To help cover operational costs, we now ask for a $20 donation per hike, except for the special Valentine's Day Hike, which is $30 for you and your date.

We’re excited to share some pawsome news! 🏆 Our 'Beware of Bullies' video took First Place in the 'Funniest Video' category at the Wagsie Awards, chosen out of 302 videos from 146 organizations. We were also named Runner-Up for the 'People's Choice' Award, which received an incredible 41,000 votes!

Thanks to these wins, we’re bringing home not only two beautiful awards but also 1,500 lbs. of pet food for our Outreach program and an amazing $10,000 prize. 🎉
