Will you be Brie's Valentine? She's a super affectionate, cuddly, energetic & playful girl!! Brie is 11 months old, the only girl in the Cheese Litter, UTD on shots, dewormed, spayed & SNAP test negative. Great with other cats & can definitely be adopted as a single cat. If you're looking for 2 kitties, Brie can be adopted together with her littermate, brother Cheddar (also a tabby, nearly identical to Brie). All you need is LOVE 💘💘 Happy Valentine's Day from Bernie's Buddies Cat Rescue!! We could not wish for a more PURRRFECT post on Valentine's Day than to share that MINNIE IS ADOPTED!!! Yes, one of our long term fosters has found her people!! Debbie, Joel & Dante saw beautiful Minnie on Petfinder & Dante specifically had a strong tug towards Minnie!! She's a great fit for them because their dog Jessie grew up with their previous cat. Well, Minnie was raised with cat-friendly dogs so that was an important box checked. Debbie, Joel & Dante loved Minnie's personality & cuddliness at their meet & greet & a match was made!! We are thrilled for Minnie that she's now got her forever home & we know this lovely family will have many years of love together ❤️ Happy life, Minnie, we love you!!

PSA for Safety, kitty friends!!! As we celebrate Valentine's Day for humans & furbabies alike, we are reminding everyone of safety measures for your cats on Valentine's Day!! Keep chocolate, candy, treats out of reach of ALL pets: these are TOXIC for animals!! Watch out for flowers like lilies, they're especially dangerous when ingested by cats. Be very careful of lit candles & decorations (ribbon, string, twine, beads) that curious paws may topple over & ingest. Secure all ribbons, string, wrappers/foil to avoid accidental ingestion. And as we always say to our adopters: PUT AWAY ALL JEWELRY!! It is very interesting & enticing for cats to inspect & play with & potentially eat.

Kitty friends, when we are with little Pio, we just can't get enough!!! Pio is a small black kitten (6 months old) who loves other cats & cuddling up in a blanket!! Pio will quietly snuggle up next to you as he asks for petting ❤️ He loves his toys with small jingle balls & soft pom pom balls being his favorite to chase after!! Pio is available for adoption, he's UTD on shots, dewormed, neutered & SNAP test negative. Pio can be adopted as a single cat if you've got the time to play with him & give lots of love & attention: he would not do well alone for hours each day. We have seen Pio & Juliana become good friends in their foster home: they can be adopted together! (Juliana is the dilute calico in 1 of the pics posted here). The J Litter needs homes!!! This beautiful litter was rescued from Branchburg in early May 2024, they'd been born to a feral mom outside (sadly feral mom refuses to be trapped, even after several years of neighbors trying). We rescued this litter, got them vet care, shots, deworming, spays & neuter. All 3 are SNAP test negative. We worked hard at socializing them. Jackson is the only male, he's a cream colored tabby. Both girls, Joy & Juliana, are dilute calicos. All 3 kittens are gorgeous!! They've been waiting a long time for their forever homes!! Juliana is affectionate, cuddly & loves being on the sofa next to her foster mom. Jackson & Joy aren't lap cats but love being around their foster family & all 3 kittens LOVE other cats!! We recommend cat savvy people for Jackson & Joy. Juliana can be adopted as a single cat or with one of her siblings. We recommend that Jackson & Joy have a friendly kitty companion in their forever home: they absolutely love playing with other cats 😻😸🥰 Apply to adopt these precious kitties today!!

HELLO from bonded pair, Pelican & Coral!! These two beautiful black beauties are from the Ocean Litter 😍 This brother/sister duo are playful, curious, loving & smart!! Boy, do they LOVE their toys, especially springs😂😂 At 9 months old, we have seen that Pelican & Coral love being together & Pelican's outgoing personality gives sister Coral a lot of emotional support. They've been raised with other friendly cats & kittens & several cat-friendly dogs in their foster home ❤️ They need to be adopted together 😻🥰 Coral loves being around/near her foster parents (not a lap cat), while Pelican sits next to them for petting & attention 😸💖 This sweet duo needs their forever home, could it be you?? PSA kitty friends!!! All of these pics are recent adoptions here at Bernie's Buddies Cat Rescue in Bridgewater NJ 🥰😻 We are super happy!! As part of our ongoing kitty education for the public/prospective adopters, we need to share some important adoption tips: prepare your home with the necessary items for your new cat(s): covered litter box, stainless steel food & water bowls, toys, kitty bed, cat tree and LOTS OF LOVE 💕😻 Get pet insurance!! But one of the most important things to do is NOT go away on vacation right after adopting!! Make sure you'll be home regularly for at least the first month or two after adoption. It's super important for your new cat to bond with you, spend lots of time & play sessions with you & adjust to a new home & your schedule. It is not helpful or healthy for the new cat to have you gone for even just a couple days while they're still adjusting to a new home. The first 3-4 weeks in a new house is a time of decompressing, bonding & adjusting. Please consider your new kitty adjusting to a new home & new family & spend the time with him/her!!😸😻

Happy Tuesday, kitty friends!! Former foster cat, Betsey Ross is here saying a big hello from her forever home!! After waiting 16 months to be adopted, Betsey found her person, Jessica, & is now experiencing her second kittenhood in her forever home 💝🥰😂 Jessica now has her best friend & Betsey gets to play & frolic like a kitten!! Betsey & her 2 kittens Liberty & Sparkle were living on the streets of Newark, sometimes people would throw them some food but they had no one & no home. 1 of our supporters called us & we rescued this precious little family, got all 3 cats vetted, spayed, dewormed, shots & SNAP tested. We waited & waited for someone to apply for Betsey & it finally happened in December 2024!!! These pics show how happy & contented Betsey is, because she's SAFE, LOVED & is a cherished family member now💖💖😻😻 THIS is our why, THIS is the result we work so hard for!! Hi, kitty friends! We wanted to share that in our 4 foster homes, we have our own resident cats & other foster cats. So often we foster parents see friendships develop & blossom ❤️❤️ These friendships are enormously beneficial in raising kittens & provides a lot of emotional support & helps the kittens' mental health. Some of our resident cats of various ages teach the kittens good cat manners & also groom the kittens! In these pics, foster kitten Joy (dilute calico) is sharing a kitty bed with fellow foster kitten, black cat Pio!! This is a new friendship, although both of these kittens love sleeping next to each other on the sofa, often cuddled up closely to resident cat Sarabi who has been very maternal with all the foster kittens over the years. I believe Joy has learned to be maternal from Sarabi's example 💖😻 it's so beautiful to see!! Joy is very "cat social" & isn't a lap cat, so this is very good for Joy too. Little Pio loves all the attention from older foster kittens & cats in his foster home!! Both Joy & Pio are available for adoption, apply to adopt today!!

We are crazy about the Cheese Litter!! This quartet is 3 boys and 1 girl. Mozzarella & Purrata are both boys (black cats) & Cheddar (boy) & Brie (girl) are the tabbies. These sweet, playful, smart & affectionate kittens are 10 months old, they're full grown now & all 4 are looking for their forever homes!! Brie & Cheddar can be adopted as a single cat in the house or adopted together. Mozzarella & Purrata are good friends & seek each other out to snuggle & groom each other & sleep next to each other at night 💖 The Cheese Litter has been raised with other cats & kittens & are great with them!! The sweetest thing to have is two bonded kitties!!! Penelope & Priscilla are 2 beautiful tabby girls who bonded in their foster home after being rescued in the same backyard where they'd been dumped 12 hours apart. THEY NEED THEIR FOREVER HOME!! These affectionate & loving girls are cuddly (they sleep right next to foster mom every night) & they're smart, observant, curious & playful 😸💓 They're 18 months old, UTD on shots, dewormed, spayed & SNAP test negative & great with other cats! Priscilla & Penelope follow foster mom around & are curious about what she's doing. Both girls love getting kisses & pets & being picked up for cuddles💖💖 Penelope has an adorable squeak she lets out whenever you greet her! This precious bonded pair has been in a foster home for 16 months: PLEASE SHARE so we can get these girls seen & find their forever home 😻💖

Every day with Alex is a blessing!! He's a very sweet, chill tabby boy, one year old & available for adoption!! He'd make the purrrfect best buddy, he just wants to be with you!! Alex is laid-back & LOVES to nap!! Yesterday Alex was soaking up the sun, as you can see in the first 2 pics 😂 Alex really gravitates towards the male cats in his foster home, he will find them & curl up next to them to sleep 💓 Sweet, affectionate Alex has been waiting 8 months for his forever home!!!
