So yesterday was my 2 year “got ya” day….
Im pretty happy my hoomans found me… i was skinny, and not treated very well….
I knew when I hopped in the truck that this was where I belonged…
When we got to my new home,
There was a food bowl and fresh water!!!
No Chains, they let me run !!!
I get to stay inside and protect them…
We go lots of places…
I have a whole block to protect now…
The neighborhood needs me, and all like and pet me!!
I found out what treats are.!!
Yum!!!
And learned how to bark and warn them….
We sake a big doghouse and go camping… it’s great chasing chipmunks, birds, and pelicans!!

They had just lost Big Bear and really needed me to love them…..
I slept with dad my first night …
We got a bed and put it in the front room….
They really need me….
Im pretty happy here….
My hoomans are safe now!
I think I’ll stay 👍

So it's been a while since I've been on here... My hoomans take me camping and almost everywhere they go. Since they brought me home, I have really changed....
I get to eat when I want. I have put on some weight and you can't see all my ribs anymore.....
I also get to stay in a hoomans house.! It is better than on a chain under a truck, like before.
I have heat when it's cold and cooling when hot...
I have learned to bark. It took me about 2 months, but learned how.
I know what toys are too...it took about a month to learn that...
Oh! TREATS!!! I know what treats are too... Natural chicken are my favorite now...I was 3 months to learn treats...I show my hoomans where they are now.....
My teeth seem to be ok...they are ground flat from chewing on that old chain I was on before,but don't seem to hurt any ..my stomach issues have been cleared up too.
I guess I'm going to keep my hoomans....I got a chip in me, just in case .
I'm healthy.
I'm happy.
I'm home.....

New Bear is fitting in well..
He has been camping, and to the parks..
He was nurtured 2 weeks ago and chipped at that time too….
He is getting used to his new environment…
He finally barked after a little over 6 weeks….. and now alerts to his territory..
More camping to come…

So a couple of things have taken place since Big Bears death…
We painted the statue to resemble him
We were sitting at the table last week and got a message to look at Riverbender at a GSD looking to be rehomed….
We called and met.

The new Bear, that was his name already, did well last night and today..
He slept well for about 4 hrs…
We are going through the learning phase. He’s a really sweet creature. Still haven’t heard him bark. He’s a little skinny, but I think he was not being given full attention. We decided to give him A stable, caring home. He seems to be fitting in well.
I went out to original Bears grave and And told him that he was not being replaced, that we would never forget him, and that we had to give our love to another creature that deserved it.I thanked him for giving us an opportunity to love him. That he would never be forgotten. That he would always be in our hearts and minds. I can’t believe I was attached so much to that loving creature… although still heart broken,I am thankful for all the joy that he brought to our lives, and others peoples too…Bear was and always will be a special soul.
So as one book is finished, a new book is opened, and the first chapter begins. We will see what this story has to entail ( pun intended).
Thank you, old Bear, for being in our family…..We Love and Miss you terribly!!!
May you rest comfortably …

We have had him a week now and got his shots and vet check up.
He has a tick born disease that is being treated with antibiotics…
He finally barked. 3 different times..
But that’s it… no whining or noises

We picked up this concrete statue today and are going to have it painted to match Bear….

Got it at Community Seed & Feed Compt, in East Alton ….
They are family owned and they do their own pours….
Will probably get a smaller one for the front…

Brighton Pet Mayor Pro Tem , Bear (Price)
Passed away after a short but debilitating fight with cancer..
He enjoyed chasing squirrels 🐿, rabbits 🐇, bird shadows, and cats 🐈 ..
He also enjoyed camping and hikes( not to p*e 😂)
Bear was 9 y/o rescue….
He was always by his hoomans side.
His favorite thing was to howl at the Fire Trucks as they responded. He loved going to the Firehouse and seeing “his” trucks….
He also loved going to Betsey Ann Park to chase deer..
He is missed by family and friends..
May he Rest In Peace..
He was a fantastic companion !!!
We Love You!!!

My hoomans got my test results back and it says that I have advanced cancer somewhere in me. The cell structures are not normal ….
Still losing weight…
I have been up a few(very few) times …
Moms giving me stuff and it makes me sick in my tummy….
I go back to the doctor on Friday….
I sleep a bunch….
My rear legs are very wobbly….
David and Amanda and Gloria came to see me and I was up more than I had been in a week…..
Gloria and I had some snacks….
Today I are a few bites but got sick again…..
Dad got me Darksoils cbd/cbg too…
Will let you know what we find out at the doctors…..

So over the weekend we had a severe incident with our Bear….
He was really inactive and not eating anything….. he lost control of his rear legs and couldn’t stand at all Sunday….We had a rough day and evening… was thinking we were going to have to put him down..
He was up twice Sunday night..Took him to the vet , Jersey county veterinarian clinic and they were able to help him…. He has a severe infection somewhere and put on an antibiotic..
He also is anemic, white blood cells were28,000 and supposed to be 16,000 to 18,000…..
He lost weight from 108 down to 91….
Also has fever of 104, normal is 100/102
Put him on a high iron supplement…
Also put him on an anti inflammatory for his hind end issues….
He is still not eating, but drinks water….
The next ten days will be monitoring him
I have stayed up all night with him, till 6 or so then molly is there while I rest….
Hopefully he can beat this…. I’m not optimistic about the end results….
I hope we can overcome this problem and will be all right….
So now we wait and treat him…..
I am devastated….. as is molly and Hannah too….
Please keep Bear in your thoughts….
