Lady has been found safe! Somebody found her in New Britain and was keeping her safe. They saw our post and called the owner. The family is so grateful to have lady back home. Bristol and Wolcott friends! Please keep your eyes peeled. This dog was seen near Bristol fish and game/willis street dragging a black leash. Call sightings in to Wolcott Police Department right away. 203-879-1414

**** BOLO **** We need your help !!!!! Please keep an out for a dog very similar looking to the dog pictured in the area of Beecher Rd by Long Swamp Rd / Upper Willis (Bristol Fish and Game / Jacklin Rod and Gun Club). We first received a call on this type of dog on Tues, January 2nd from Bristol Fish and Game that a dog matching this description was in the driveway of the club. We arrived and spotted the dog and saw that it has a black 6ft leash attached. We attempted with the assistance of a club member to apprehend the dog, but it wanted nothing to do with us and sadly we lost sight of the dog. We quickly contacted both Bristol ACO and Southington ACO to see if they had any dogs reported missing matching the dog. Neither town had any reports of this type of dog missing. We contacted Dog Gone Recovery to see if they had any dog matching missing. We further checked the surrounding area to see if there was an owner looking for the dog and came up empty handed. We continued to check the area throughout the day with further sightings of the dog.
Today, we received 2 calls (one a resident and the other the Highway Department to which neither were able to catch the dog) in regard to the dog both on Beecher Rd, toward the end near the gate to the New Britian Water Company. I contacted Bristol Fish and Game and was advised that there was also a sighting yesterday on Upper Willis (Wolcott/Bristol line). We were given permission from both Bristol Fish and Game and New Britian Water Company to put a trap in hopes to catch this dog, on either of their properties. So, with the help from Mike Jr. (Pat's IGA for cooking up some bacon) and Dog Gone Recovery (for a remote camera) we have set a trap.
Sadly, with the impending storm we are in crunch time. I know this dog will survive the storm (he has plenty of hair) but he is currently dragging a black leash, and that is my main concern. This dog, believe me, will not come to you. Chows by nature are very independent and aloof and sometimes can be a little iffy temperament wise. PLEASE do not chase this dog, PLEASE just call us (203-879-1414) if you see it.
Any sightings can be called into Wolcott Police Department at 203-879-1414. THANK YOU !!!!!!

Hello friends!
We have a few updates for 2024! It’s a bit long but please take the time to read.

First of all and most importantly, thank you to every client, past, present and future and thank you to everyone who shares our posts and helps us reach more pets! THANK YOU to everyone who sent a card or left a gift! It is so very appreciated!

Our terms of service have been updated. All clients will need to update and sign the care information and emergency contact/vet info to be able to book services.

(We will also send out an update form around July to collect new dog licensing info as well as any other care updates.)

We will slowly incorporate boarding back into our schedule. We will take only one party at a time with a maximum of 2 dogs of the same family. We want to be very cautious not to spread the Canine Respiratory Illness, also known as, atypical canine infectious respiratory disease complex. We will be vigilant about keeping surfaces and dishes clean, not sharing bowls or toys and keeping parties separated.

There will be a price increase in the new year, starting January 1, 2024. This increase will be reflected in your invoice after the new year.

Boarding prices will be set at $80 per night for 1 dog. An additional dog will be $40 per night. (2 dogs maximum.)

Drop in visits will be set at $30 for one dog and $5 for each additional dog.

Walks will be set at $30 and will consist of only one dog being walked at a time. If an additional dog needs to be walked this will require an additional appointment. (dogs with exemplary walking etiquette will be considered for one walk with 2 dogs, prices will be discussed at that time, we have encountered very few dogs in this category.)

Taxi service will start at $25. Any ride over 10 miles will incur a mileage fee per mile set at the standard mileage rate.

A walk in the park will be set at $50 and will consist of pickup/drop off, a ride to a nearby park and a walk, frolic or sniff session of about 1 hour. A longer duration can be requested, price to be determined pending availability. (Any ride to the park over 10 miles will incur a mileage fee per mile set at the standard mileage rate.)

To offset the price increase we have packages for recurring drop in and walk appointments.

An update on the dog respiratory illness. Scientists remain puzzled by the mysterious sickness sweeping dog populations in several states. While no cases have been officially documented in Connecticut yet, experts caution that the disease's origins and transmission routes remain unknown.

We will only accept boarding appointments for one dog at a time from CURRENT CLIENTS, allowing us to closely monitor for any abnormal behavior that could signal illness. This new one-dog-at-a-time policy includes extra sanitation measures and special care to keep our canine family member separate from visiting dogs. Boarding prices will increase to $75 and up depending on each clients needs. We believe these precautions are necessary to protect your dog's health and safety. Though inconvenient to potential new clients, this approach ensures we stay alert and informed during this ongoing situation. We appreciate your understanding as we all work together to keep our dogs healthy.
