Shibui ni Animal Rescue and Sanctuary This is the page for Shibui ni Animal Rescue and Sanctuary. I had a passion for dogs from the womb. My sanctuary is Shibui ni, and my name is Tere.

In today's world, as more and more people see dogs as "throw-away," there is an unlimited need for rescue and safe homes. When people do not spay or neuter their pets, there is an exponential growth in the number of strays, being malnourished, hit by cars, attacked by other animals, diseased, etc. Providing a lifetime safe space for those strayed and feral animals on their last legs is what I do.

NOT A FUNDRAISER! NOT a 501(c)3 tax deductible fundraiser.

This year, I am not holding a fundraiser, as times are so hard for everyone, not just a sanctuary. BUT, I still have to raise money, so this is the plan:
On September 20, which is a Saturday, I am holding a massive yard sale to benefit the sanctuary. It will be in the parking lot of the very kind Cinemall in Abingdon, VA. SO - please share the info and date, and if you are in the area, please come! It will be from 7-3. On the 20th. A Saturday with good weather predictions.
ALSO ... (and this is for those of you who are NOT in SW Virginia), I am asking for a favor. (Still not a fundraiseršŸ˜¬) To anyone who loves animals, loves dogs, understands the horrible situation that dogs find themselves in an uncaring world, is involved in rescue in any way, or simply has a heart:
On or before the 20th, pick one thing and sell it. Sell something that you do not need or use, on ebay, facebook, at a local shop, etc. Sell something and donate the proceeds to Shibui ni Animal Rescue and Sanctuary. As of today, we have 18 dogs to feed, care for, vet, supply for a lifetime. It's a lot.

My old man, Osiris, is 17 today. He's not doing great, just ok. But he's 17. Bladen County Animal Control and Shelter of Bladen County Animal Control. His name was Dallas when he came into the sanctuary in 2010 as the shelter's longest living resident. He was 45 minutes from being pts for space.

This is Tara, the mother of all eight Shibui ni pups from south Texas. I love this girl so much it hurts. She lives in Atlanta with the best family on the planet. Her mom took her on a girl's only trip to the beach! Tara got to leave her very persistent boyfriend at home. Kelly Willyard Elma Garate Have you ever seen a happier dog in your life???
