Get them neutered & spayed!

It's never too early for "The Talk."

🐾 Kittens can get pregnant at 4 months of age.

🐾 Cats can have 3 litters per year, of 4 to 6 kittens. That's at least 12-18 kittens born per cat in 1 year, and unfortunately, a lot of those kittens suffer or die (and if they survive, they also start having kittens in that same year.) This is why cat colonies get so out of control if those first free-roaming cats you see don't get fixed immediately!!!!

🐾 Spay/Neuter before 5 months because it's the right thing to do.

BAD NEWS: I'm fixing to have my rescue foreclosed and be homeless with 16 cats, 5 dogs, and 2 parrots, and 6 !! I'm not worried for us... even tho 3 of 4 of us are disabled with 3 on social security disability. But we have 17 cats, 5 dogs, and two parrots that need homes or foster homes. PLEASE..Let me know if you have any leads, ideas, etc. (Thank you for your tolerance on this forum).

Winter Community Cat Feeding Tip ...

Outdoor community cats need extra calories in the winter to keep extra fat layers on their bodies to keep them warmer in the winter.

Feeding adult food mixed with some kitten food (which has more calories than adult food) is a good option in the winter months.

⚠️ Mix small amounts of kitten food gradually so the cats' tummies don't get upset.

🚩It is only necessary to feed more calories during the colder months.

❗️If you're feeding community cats - thank you - but please make sure they are spayed & neutered! Reach out to us if you need resources.

Very, very, sad to report that due to a lack of funds, as in one donator only, I was unable to afford basic healthcare for the 30 cats in residence, twenty-six of whom were born in-house. Also, despite our attempts to find adopters, not one kitten was adopted. Heartbreakingly, 15 of the precious purr-pusses died due to Feline Leukemia. I know it was ridiculous of me to try to care for that many cats on a SSDI income, but I foolishly spent my limited income on spaying & neutering them all myself. When I say "we" I refer to all my cat loving roommates, some of whom had no income at all, sigh...
