DRUM ROLL PLEASE! Our very own Moses has been named the 2025 Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International Equine of the Year for Region One which includes all of New England at the southern and eastern provinces of Canada! Moses arrived at Shepard Meadows 10 years ago as a rescue from Long Island. He is free leased to us by his owner, Christine Wright of KY. Moses will go on to the national competition later this year! We ask that you email any of your special photos of him to [email protected]

Last night we attended the Women and Girls Annual Meeting and grant awards ceremony. We celebrated with other local non-profits who support initiatives that make a difference in the lives of women and girls! Thank you to the Main Street Community Foundation for granting us the funds for a second year of our Women's Gestalt Group. As one of our 2024 participants wrote "My experience ... brought me joy and peace. I have a sense of hope for a brighter future."

After a week of freezing temperatures and biting winds our herd got a reprieve today. They took turns resting and sunbathing. Oh winter! Not to mention the transformer exploding that feeds the main barn. But all is well, Eversource helped us out by relieving our generator with theirs. We expect all will be back to normal soon! Stay warm and safe everyone!
