Bessie Jo’s sire working cattle, she certainly got her speed and tenacity from him. If you watch the entire thing, he gets rolled multiple times and pops right back at it. Laura’s ability to control stock through her dogs is incredible. If any of you are wanting a good start on your dogs, I’d encourage you to seek her out! She is in the Owasso, OK area.

Last harvest before the freeze, it will be sad to see it all go. Last year we tried tarping it and instead of saving anything we lost it all. So, this year we harvested EVERYTHING. I told Barry that it was like an Easter Egg Hunt, except it wasn’t fair because the eggs were all green 🥚 🍁 😂 Happy Fall Y’all!!!

It’s a fun time at TangleWoods Ranch, our winter litter puppies are starting to be put on stock. TangleWoods Kate had her first herding class recently with Mindy Stevenson in Broken Arrow, OK. Her owner says they plan to continue weekly classes with Mindy and, “We sure love this dog sooo much!” 💕

Bessie Jo got to go on her first cattle drive today. Our neighbor called and said he needed folks to fill the “holes” in the yards as he led the cattle a 1/4 mile. Barry and Jade stood at the turning point in the road and Bess and I took a large yard gap. There ended up being a stray, so Bess and I pushed her up the road the 1/8th of mile she lost from the herd. We got our exercise in! Barry and Jade watched the corner, no one tried to push past them. Having working dogs sure saves a lot of work!! The petunia photo is the only Bess photo I took today lol, please enjoy our pretty mineral buckets of flowers ❤️ 🌸

6 flavors of hot sauces bottled and ready to go! In order of heat: Anaheim, Jalapeño, Serrano, Habanero, Ghost, and Reaper. Our 7th flavor, this year, will be Dragon’s Breath 🔥🐉 These sauces are excellent as a topping on things such as tacos and nachos OR added to your favorite recipes for a kick! Local pickup only for now, as they need refrigerated. I regularly travel within an hour of the Bristow, OK area. $10 for 8oz or $6 for 4oz bottle.

I’m not sure which one I like Bess-t!! 🤔😉 TangleWoods’ Bessie Jo and I took a walk downtown Sapulpa, OK this week. We were pleasantly surprised to be welcomed in by The Heart of Route 66 Vintage Market, Sapulpa Mercantile Exchange, Dewey Street Market and Cecil & Son's Discount Tires. The Heart of Route 66 Vintage Market even gave us an “Oklahoma Passport” and stamped a page for us, to mark new adventures!

This is the face of the best dog ever. She is our matriarch and the cornerstone of our breeding program. If you’re running stock and don’t have a good dog, you are killing yourself for no reason!! We recently added goats to the ranch and let me tell you, my recent life would have been H-E-Double Hockey Sticks without this dog. She has never worked goats… can’t think of a time she’s even seen them. She was never formally trained on any stock, but I point at the goats and she instinctively knows what to do.

We were gathering a stray pair and I had a makeshift wing around a BLIND corner to run them into. One split at the last minute, so I took my chance and dove in to grab the other. Unbeknownst to me, Jade took it upon herself to go gather up the last goat. So I’m dragging the caught one around and here comes Jade pushing the last one in the pen. She SMOKES me with it, because she didn’t know I was standing there. All I could do is laugh and say “GOOD DOG!!!” What else do you say to the best dog ever?
