Our girl Candy is still looking for the perfect home. We would love to find her a family in time to enjoy the holidays! 🎄

Candy is 4 years old and she is spayed and had surgery to amputate her injured toe and paw pad. She's all healed up now and ready to go!

When we say that the staff adores this dog, we mean that we ADORE this dog. She's as sweet as they come! And how can you say no to those puppy dog eyes?! 🥺

As we have said before, Candy needs to be an only pet. Somewhere she can be the queen of her castle due to her past. It's not her fault what happened and doesn't make her any less deserving. We know the perfect home is out there!

So, if you would like to meet Candy and give her the comfy, forever home that she deserves, please give the clinic a call! She has no adoption fee. She just needs somewhere to rest her head for the rest of her days.

11/19 update: Candy is still looking for her special home! Since being posted for adoption, we have amputated her affected toe and she is doing fantastic with just bandage changes for the next 2 weeks! This girl doesn't let anything bring her down! There is no adoption fee but a donation to our Good Sam Fund would be appreciated! Thanks to those that continue to share our sweet girl 💜💜

We have had quite a special friend with us for a few weeks now that we think should finally be introduced. Candy is a 4 year old Rottweiler that was surrendered to us because of an injury to her front right foot that needed some extensive wound care or surgery. Over the past few weeks, with the help of our staff here, we have carefully cared for her wounded foot. It is healing better than we imagined it would and is now requiring little management, but it will need to be continued by her adopter. Our staff will guide you on how to care for it and follow ups. Candy was also just spayed this past Friday by our very own, Dr. Jim.

She is a special case because of her many encounters with other dogs, which makes her not the best friend towards others. She does not actively attack or go after other dogs, but we do not have the facilities to test this nor do we want to risk her biting any of our staff’s pets. She is also extremely interested in cats so we are counting cats out of her friend category as well. With this being said, we are looking for a family that has no other pets that would like to add this big sweetheart to their family. She loves all things people, rolls around for belly rubs, loves snuggles, potties outside, does not chew up toys or blankets (so far, that is!!), and would make such a great pet. The staff absolutely adores her but as with any veterinary staff, we all already have pets.

She does come with a couple of cosmetic issues from other dogs biting her or her getting stuck in cages as well. These old injuries include a scar from her mouth to her nose which almost looks like a cleft lip and ears that are not quite the right size that they should be. But we find it very endearing.

The staff here at Sugarcreek have fallen in love with Candy and want nothing more than for her to find a perfect home. Let us know if you think you have the perfect home for our sweet girl! ❤️
