I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has been donating and sharing my campaign. I am trying to keep up with individual thank you emails but the page is not always cooperating. If you did not get a thank you from me I am sorry. I will keep trying. All of the support shown for Dr. Casey and Lori proves there are still kind and caring people in this crazy world. Keep being the light and spread it wherever you can! People like you can and will make a difference.
Dr. Casey and Lori are overwhelmed with the outpouring of support, get well wishes, donations, and prayers. Initially, I had no idea what kind of “goal” to set. I felt like I needed to do “something” rather than sitting around doing nothing and waiting for updates on their condition. I thought “every little bit helps”. I was stunned when I got up at 3am to start my day (Tuesday, not even 24 hours after the campaign was published) and saw we exceeded that goal. It made me want to set the bar a little higher. Every goal I published we surpassed thanks to all of YOU! There is still work to do. Keep praying, sharing, and donating if you can (if you have already donated I thank you and I am not asking you to give more, just to be clear). After hearing about the events that took place and knowing the severity of the injuries they sustained, I know they are going to have some hefty medical bills rolling in. Each of them has an outrageous deductible to pay before anything is even covered. Initially Casey was less than thrilled when he learned of the gofundme I had set up and wanted Lori to tell me to take it down. Casey is a giver, not a taker. It took A LOT of talking to him about it to finally accept the help. Lori put it best to him. "Casey, if one of your clients, let's just say, had a house fire and a page would be set up for them to help them out, would you donate?" His immediate answer was "of course". That was exactly her point. There are good people out there willing to help get you through the worst of times in one way or another. That's what life's all about. Spreading kindness and lending a hand wherever you can.
After work yesterday, I went to the hospital to visit with Dr. Casey and Lori. Despite being in extreme pain it did not crush his spirits. Lori is absolutely exhausted but is trying to hold it all together. All Casey could say is that he is so worried about getting back to work and caring for his patients. I couldn’t tell you when I have ever heard someone in the ICU saying they need to get back to work. That should be the furthest thing from his mind right now. But that is Casey. If that isn’t love I don’t know what is. He said he feels awful because he is not there to help his clients and patients.
I know there are many people who wish to make a donation without using the gofundme page. We are accepting cash donations and gift card donations at my office. I will make sure they get to them. My office information is as follows:
Mahoning Valley Animal Hospital
2967 Blakeslee Blvd Dr W
Andreas, PA 18211
I will not go into much more detail about his health because that is not my place. I will tell you that your prayers are working! Please keep them coming!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of your support.
Best,
Stephanie
