I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a little OCD. That being said, should I say anything to my contractor about these two shower tiles being placed adjacent to one another? Would have looked so much better with any other random tile in place of either one of those.

Edit to add: the tiles have waves in them. The installer did a great job of matching every wave in every adjacent tile. I did not expect the installer to match both the waves and the veining. I expected the veining to be random. My only beef is with these 2 tiles being stacked because they have the same vein pattern which happens to look like anteaters now that you mention it!

What are these actually for? When you open them, it looks like newspaper and concrete with an opening but it goes straight down to… nowhere. No idea why.

What on earth should I do with this alcove? I moved into this house recently and am at a loss of what to do with this alcove! It’s at the end of a hallway and is around 2m across and 1.4m deep.
This alcove used to be the front entrance of the house (a long time ago!). Also, the “pillars” on either side are uneven in length (making symmetry hard), and they can’t be removed (water pipes).
How do I use this space effectively? Maybe cabinets for more storage space or armchairs (although it’s a slightly random place to sit in terms of the flow of the house!). I’ve been browsing the Tedooo app for some ideas, and I’ve seen so many beautiful handmade decor pieces, but I’m still unsure about what would work best here. Any advice is much appreciated!

Had the afternoon off today so my wife asked me to clean the oven. 'Don't go crazy and make it spotless' she said. 'At some point we'll pay someone to come round and do it properly'. Several hours, a few thousand swear words, half a bottle of wine and knees that may never fully function again later, not only could you cook your dinner in it but you could eat your dinner off it.
M 45. Size 9.5. Doesn't believe in doing things by half measures.
