Welcome to DormelloDevon Rex Cattery. The idea of a cattery that bred the Devon Rex cat orignated in my mind in 1996. After reading Feline Husbandry I concluded that breeding cats would be a huge commitment of time, energy, and study that I was not prepared to make. On June 9,2013 I was given a 2 day old Devon Rex kitten that had failed to thrive. With emergency treatment I was able to raise this
kitten and he has become a happy, healthy individual. His name is Vincent Cookie 4th and it was his idea in 2014 that I again attempt to start a Devon Rex cattery. I was told that breeders would not sell me a breeding cat. I found this to be true. But this time I was prepared to commit myself to this dream. With the help of Rene Knapp I was able to aquire two females and a male. My THANKS to her are immense.I am commited to developing a cattery program with a strong emphasis on health. Unlike in 1996 the task is no longer overwhelming. With the advent of PCR stool and upper respiratory testing, snap tests for giardia-aids/leuk.-fPL--heartworm as well as the non-adjuvented vaccines including intra-nasal, the impossible now seems possible. I look forward to slowly growing my cattery and pledge to be a positive influence in introducing and helping anyone with an interest in this wonderful breed to follow their dream of owning or breeding the remarkable DEVON REX!
