🚨 DO NOT LEAVE YOUR PETS IN THE CAR 🚨
It’s baffling that people need to be told this.
Have you ever sat in your car with the air off and window cracked? It’s HOT. Pretty unbearable, right? So why do it to your pets?
Here’s some facts about leaving pets in an unattended car:
🦴 Animals can sustain brain damage or even die from heatstroke in just 15 minutes
🦴 The temperature inside your vehicle can rise almost 20º F in just 10 minutes, and almost 30º F in 20 minutes.
🦴 Your vehicle can quickly reach a temperature that puts your pet at risk of serious illness and even death
🦴 Cracking the windows makes no difference
🚨 Did you know that there is a law protecting animals left in hot vehicles 🚨
🦴 Act 104, also known as the Hot Car Law, states that owners cannot lock pets in hot cars
🦴 Those who violate these laws can suffer penalties that range from fines to jail time
🦴 “Penalties for animal neglect in Pennsylvania…
A summary offense could mean up to 90 days in jail and/or a $300 fine.
A misdemeanor of the third degree could mean up to one year in jail and/or $2,000 fine if the neglect causes bodily injury or places the animal at imminent risk.”
DO BETTER and protect your pets. If you see an animal that may be in danger, call the police and report the vehicle. You may have just saved an animals life.
