🥵The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat warning for our area. The heat index today at times will reach 115* Please be mindful of yourself, and especially your horses. Signs of stress include pacing, excessive sweating, not eating. Make sure they have access to plentiful shade and fresh water and a fan. 🥵

Effective immediately for our facility.

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY:

Any horse that has been to the Bowie Livestock barn or has been in contact with horses from Bowie Livestock Barn is NOT ALLOWED on the property for the next 30 days.

As with anything there will be a million different people saying a million different things. We can all hope that the original information that was shared wasn’t completely accurate, however we are still going to be proactive in protecting our facility and our animals from any possible threats. When more information is released we may change plans going forward, but for now we are going to stand by not allowing any horses from Bowie or in contact with horses from Bowie from coming to our facility.

Pease see the post we shared from Bowie. They confirmed a horse tested positive on Friday and are awaiting further test results from the state which will be back Friday to confirm whether the horse actually is positive or if it was a false positive. As such we are also awaiting those results before we open back up as normal. Here is a link to their post as well.

Best way to stop someone from giving you unsolicited advice is dismount, hand them the reins and ask them to show you how it’s done. 98% of the time the back pedaling will speak for itself.

If you see him…. Spotted in the barn last night, a giant Bullfrog! This is very exciting and we just had to share. 🐸🤣 He was demanding to be let in the feed room and being a menace in the aisle. How CHONKY and handsome he is! If you come across him, don’t sweep him up or get scared. Scoop him up and put him by the wash rack! Thanks for caring!

Please say hello to Allison. We have felt blessed beyond words to find someone like Allison to work hands on with the horses and daily tasks associated with them. She has been simply wonderful. It’s very hard to start such a physically strenuous job in the summer but she has always worked hard and made this place shine despite weather extremes. Thank you Allison!

Our August show is scheduled for the 31st not the 17th. We changed it so it wouldn't interfere with plans of everyone attending the horsemans market. There is a fake event post going around that I can not delete. I will share a picture of what it looks like. Thank you, Pepper
