Whew! It’s been a month here at Savage PHT, that’s for sure!

I apologize for being absent, I took a much needed short vacation & then right after getting back I had surgery & was down from that. But I am almost healed enough to get back to working & I’m so excited to be back doing what I love!

Even on top of everything I have added in some new things! I am now offering Stress Line Equine Products & Trailer Washing Services. I will soon be making individual posts about each one, but for now an update.

Stress line Equine Products are amazing to say the least. They have a range of products to cover the whole horse & keep them happy, healthy & performing! From small cuts, to muscle tension to gut health; they have a bit of everything & they are a product line I have sworn by since 2015 when I first learned about them.

Trailer washing is something I recently picked up & honestly enjoy a lot. I offer a safer but more effective alternative to acid washing. This is something that if done regularly helps keep your trailer clean, free of excess damage & increases its value if you want to sell it! I have been fine tuning my skills on my personal trailers & I can honestly say I don’t think they have looked this good since they came off the production line!

We had so much fun this weekend! We met lots of new, and not-so-new faces this weekend. We learned a lot, laughed a lot, ate some great food achieving a common goal. Thank you and congratulation to all our newly certified basic and advanced students! Photos from the weekend will be up this week.

Beginner Equine First Aid and Advance Equine First Aid are filling up and you don't want to miss them! The next first aid courses will be offered in May, so now is a good time to brush up on your knowledge before the springtime zoomies and trail riding weather comes into full swing!

What an AMAZING group of students for the first Equine First Aid Class!! It was a long day of learning for sure but also so much fun!! I can’t say thank you enough to the students who came out to learn and were so patient with the small issues I had trying to navigate my first class. I for sure can’t wait for my next class. If you missed out on this first class then be ready! I have a 2nd class planned for March 26th, details will be coming out shortly.

San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo fans!!! Savage Performance Horses & Therapy is coming to you Saturday, February 19th, 2022 for a demonstration in the Horse Discovery Area! Come watch and learn about equine massage, Kineseology taping, and equine first aid! Our demo block will be between 4pm until 7pm! Come out and see us!

As the year comes to a close & time continues to slip away I realize I haven’t done one important thing! That’s announce the 2022 sponsored rider 😬

So without further delay *drum roll please* I’d like to officially name Melissa Meitzen as the 2022 Sponsored Rider! With her hard work ethic, drive to compete & her will to provide the best care for her horses I decided that continuing our partnership would be a great idea!

In 2021 Melissa was able to work hard enough to become the top amateur in the thoroughbred make over barrels, along with being 3rd overall in barrels! She did this while working full time as a Paramedic, keeping her horses in shape & while maintaining a proper massage schedule to put her horses care at the top of her list!

Melissa's plans for 2022 include continuing her training and competiting with Start of Action, "Secret" who she took to the 2021 Thoroughbred Makeover in October. This year she also has Magna Ride, "Magnum", a recently retired Thoroughbred gelding who she hopes to train to demonstrate the trainability and versatility of Thoroughbreds once they have transitioned to post-track life. Be on the lookout for these 2 gorgeous bays traveling and competing in 2022 in all sorts of different venues!

I am super blessed to have such an amazing person on my team, along with having such amazing clients that have helped me continue to grow in 2021. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for 2022! I know I sure have some big plans in the works.
